got a call no message left just on caller id.  I am also on the donot call list.

I got one of these calls a few days ago. The caller said they had gotten my number from an online retailer that I had an affiliation with. When I demanded who the online retailer was (I'm never nice to these scum bags), he said a sales associate could certainly help me with that question.

It occurs to me now after reading all the comments online about this number that this is a variety of phishing. But it isn't to get any personal information from you; it is to establish an "association" with you. By establishing an "association" with you, they can skirt the Do Not Call list. The Do Not Call list does not apply to any companies with which you have established an "association". (For example, the insurance company associated with your bank can call you.) Once you have initiated an "association" (by agreeing to have a sales associate call you, or - I'm sorry to say - by calling the number back), the company can then sell your phone number to any and all of its affiliated companies. And it will.

The company that appears to own the phone number (FullTel), is not making these calls; it is merely the host of the these types of phone banks.

So, don't call the number back. The whole "press 1 to be removed from the call list" is a load of BS. Seriously, do you think that a company that will not identify itself on its answering service is going to honor your request to stop calling?

Also, for all of you who are outraged by these calls because you are on the Do Not Call list: don't be so naive. There have always been snake oil salesmen, and there will always be snake oil salesmen, no matter how many regulations are written. Take some personal responsibility about defending yourself from charlatans instead of handing over that responsibility to a bureaucracy that cannot possibly defend you in the way you want to be defended. Take your outrage out on the low life you is calling you, not on some toothless regulation.

got one of these today.  It was Ben from Home Security Whatever.  I hung up on him and am filing BBB complaint using the info posted on the first page of this thread.  I recommend all do the same.  Find out where the company is based and file BBB complaint locally.

I just received a call from 918-442-0279 on my Blackberry, did not answer, they did not leave a message.  I am on a Do Not Call list.  What should I do?

Have received numerous calls from this number. I don't pick up. I am on the Do Not Call list.

Get a lot of calls from unknown numbers on my cell from these jerks.  The 800 blocking doesn't work as most of these jerks including credit card companies are now using regular area codes.

Received a call on my cell  # which is on the Do not call list. I did not answer the call when it came in but dialed the number back and reached a recording telling me if I did not want to receive future calls from the marketing company to select 1. I did this so I will see what happens,

thanks for the info - got a call from this number just now and had dead air, when I went to disconnect they started talking -obviously a telemarketer.  Hate those kind on my CELL PHONE!!

Thank you for the the information.   This is the first time I received a call on my cell from 918-442-0729.  I figure if they did it once, they'll ring it again.  Only next time I will know where the number is coming from.  Again I thank you.

Same as everybody else.  Continued harrassment, mulltiple calls, no messages, etc.

several phone calls recently, including this evening.  wrote to that company fullnet that was listed above and told them i was going to report them to the BBB if they did not stop calling my number, which i gave.  hope it doesn't produce more calls.

The guy who spoke to me,his name is Michael.
Wanted to know about my security system at home,and other homes in the area,wheather they have security systems or not.I am now suspicious about this.
Why would someone do this at 9 at night,unless he wants to do something.

I called fullnet and found the number is in use by TM Caller ID and their number is 866-225-1956 and their website is http://www.tmcallerid.com/
