I Got A Call From This Number

Got a call... said hello twice.. no one on other end..

Called tonight at 6:34 pm.

They called me asking if i knew or could contact my brother. Stating he is to be served court papers. They refused to give any details. The told me to to tell him to call 844-653-1026 ext 402 and mention a case number. It was so weird. I know you cant serve people court papers from phone calls.  When i called the number back i got a recorded message saying "national private search" please leave a messege. I think this is a scam of some kind

Called just now no msg, not even bothering if debt collector. Glad I searched here. Debts are 7 yrs old and in Florida statue of limitation is 4 yrs for any legal action I was told by a lawyer. No debt collector can harass or threaten you over phone. Court papers are served via carrier. Not through phone.

I received a call from this number. I called it back, it rang and then I got a voicemail message "The Magic Jack customer you're trying to call isn't available." I called again, it rang and I received the same message. Within seconds, I received another call. When I said "Hello," the person hung up on me. I tried calling back, but it went direct to voicemail each time.

This is a debt collections service trying to get info to use against you or a relative. They are trying to get info on your whereabouts or a relatives whereabouts to serve court papers. Do not answer, do not give info. just hang up on them.

Just got a call from this number. Said she was calling in behalf of someone that i do not know.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Seems like this number is part of a phone scam. I have answered so many 'Fraud' calls as a LEO and this one smeels like it.  The female on the phone told me they are delivering documents and needed to make sure someone was home to sign. I asked who they were for and gave me some random name.  When I identified myself as a LEO she began tip toeing around my questions.  I ultimately hung up but not before calling her...well something not nice.   Becareful people.  Phone, Internet and Mail scams are on the rise and VERY convincing.

i just  got  two calls  from this # didnt  answer blocked the #

they called my bro in law and did the exact same thing as soon as he started questioning them they hung up

I just received a call from this number, as well. The caller ID noted "Shannon    Kay". They were asking if someone would be available to accept papers, much like LEO said. I have been separated from her since 2003, and a Google search for her brings up various mug shots, most recent 02/2014. I may have done wrong, but told them last I heard, she was in Corpus Christi. (oops, she's in Galveston) This is the second call I have gotten about papers for her, but as I live in MS, there is no way I'm going to accept anything for her.
