Received a text message with a link to click to verify unemployment benefits account for another state. I do not live in that state and the .gov website says it would never ask to verify a profile via text message.

Says it's JP Morgan and I have an ACH transfer of 21k pending. Then it has a link if I didn't make the request. Message was sent through SMS to my cell. Didn't click the link. They probably want you to give them your bank routing information then they'll extract you money through ACH transfers. Beware! Smells like a scam.

I wish I had thought to check this number before falling for the scam. Now this number is pretending to be USPS. I received a text advising my package was undeliverable due to an incomplete address. I clicked the link which took me to the “USPS” website. There i “scheduled” a redelivery and paid $3 to do so. That $3 was never deducted from my account but $175 was through steamgames later. The tracking number on the fake usps site was nearly identical to the real tracking number of the package I was waiting to be delivered that same day. I’m new to the state and have my packages delivered to a friends, was already receiving numerous text notifications of shipping updates for it.. they got me. But the next day $170 was auto reversed.. not sure why the $5 charge wasn’t. I’ll make a claim with my bank if the merchant doesn’t resolve it.
