Claimed to offer lower interest rates.  I pressed 9 to talk to a representative to asked to be removed from call list. Representative tells me he loves me and wants us to be friends.  I asks to speak to supervisor.  Another guy gets and tells me he wants to help me.  Starts asking for personal information.  I tell him just to remove me from the list.  He tells me I have to go to their website and then proceeds to give me the link to a PORNO WEBSITE.   Then he starts to spew FILTH at me.

I had the same thing happen to me, however the idiot was stupid enough to leave me 2 threatening messages.  An asian man who told me he would Fuc* me with the Statue of Liberty and said he would call me a 1000 times on the holiday.

    This man MUST BE STOPPED.

I have been receiving numerous calls from this number.  When i picked up, I yelled, "Stop calling me!"  The [***] called me back and asked me if I was having sex with a donkey.  Very thick accent.  I called him a terrorist.  He did not win with me, because for every nasty comment he had I came back with a worse one.  I agree.  This must be stopped.  Calls originate from Florida.  I am contacting a lawyer.  Someone has to get to the bottom of this.

This is the final straw that is making me disconnect my landline. The a$$hole who is behind this number called me 6 (six) times in a matter of ten minutes, and on the sixth call THREATENED MY LIFE. I immediately called the police, who are going to try and trace the call, but are pretty sure it's coming from outside the USA with a spoofed number. I also tried calling Comcast to have my landline shut off, but those greedy [***] tried to sell me MORE product and completely ignored my request for disconnect. I'm going to be doing some research to see if Comcast is in violation of a Federal law for refusing disconnection of service.

Tamianth, I don't mean to be rude or a wise guy, but you're kidding, right? The so-called "Do-Not-Call Registry" is a total; waste of time. It doesn't stop a single one of these calls. Not one. And reporting the call to the Feds? They have such a backlog of numbers to check on that it may take them years to get to my complaint. Again, a waste of time, since most of those numbers are spoofed anyway, and they have no way to trace them. Finally, why should I have to spend $60 of my hard-earned money to block these calls? They don't work on Comcast-connected phones, anyway. While I appreciate your research, I disconnected my landline permanently. After yesterday's experience, I'm done. Cell phone only for me.

Well Jim, you have pretty much answered all your questions in your post,  But i do have one question for you: "What are you going to do when they start calling your cell phone?".  Because they will.  They have a computer that dials every number in a given area code and exchange.  Are you going to say they can't do that because it is against the law?  Guess what, they don't care about the law because they are criminals.   So, enjoy your life without any phone at all because that is what you are going to end up with.

Oh and by the way Jim your post seems to resemble a post I read the other day posted at another number under a different name.  Now I suppose that it could just be a coincidence but then again maybe not.  Care to comment?

The DNC isn't a call blocker and never was. Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.  You need to step up and do something for yourself and stop depending on the government to do every thing.

Same as everyone else on here. They will call back 10 times in a row and call you all sorts of names. The calls are outside the USA and that's the problem...

I received a call from 941-312-8878 after receiving a call to lower interest rates from another number. The man was very rude and then hung up on me.

I work for a financial institution (bank) and this guy is still at it after a year!  Unreal.  An Asian man has asked for card balances on customer debit/card cards.

I just got a call from this same number, was hesitant on giving my cc info over the phone just like any normal individual.  The guy transferred me to his supervisor which seemed like a polite woman.  I gave her enough information to pull up my account, but no more than what I would give to verify normally (last 4 of SSN, last 4 of cc, etc).  She said she could lower my interest rate and transfer me over to a guy who could do that for me.  Once transferred to the new department where the guy could "lower" my interest rate he began to talk about how this is a program and that if I'm late paying my card at any time they would have to charge me a $1,000 fee.  I laughed, told him this was a scam and to never call me back.  Before I hung up his response was "Thanks for wasting my time and yours."

How RUDE! What an ass!  I work in a call center for a financial company, so I know how things are run.  This company is definitely a scam, don't do it!

I first received a call from 728-727-6522 that was a computer generated call. The call said they could lower my interest rates on my credit card. The call said to press 9 to be connected to a representative. I pressed 9 and was connected to an Asian guy that wanted my name. I told him that I wasn't giving my name but wanted them to have the phone number to remove it from calling list. The guy argued with me that I was an idiot if I wouldn't give my name. I hung up. He then called back from 941-312-8878 telling me I was a f**king idiot. This type of a call needs to be stopped and this company needs to be fined.

Subject called me several times and cursed at me after I hung up on him.  He offered me a 6% rate on a new Visa / Mastercard.  He asked for the expiration date and the card number.
