Said he was with my credit card company and since I have a good credit rating would I like a lower rate.  Then wanted me to verify account number and date????  Scam.  Then they called back on number (728)-727-7410.  Do not give any information to this group.  It is scary they have my information from Experian

    I'm getting their calls today.

As of now,  they have called 14 times today alone. I think it's because I pissed him off by asking questions and not giving my credit card information

They promise to lower my bank of america credit card rates.   He said he was with credit card services and they manage all billing

I mentioned if they did all billing why would I need to repeat my credit card information.

Received a robo call that stated my credit card company was calling and do not worry, nothing is wrong. Indicated that I was eligible to receive a 6% rate if interested, press #9. Before I could press #9, the caller hung up. I tried redialing and received a Verizon message that the number was not in service or had been disconnected. Definitely a scam.

They call countless times in the past.  I finally answered late June.   After being told he was with credit card services,  the company that processes statements and manages accounts for many companies.  Credit card services is legitimate,  however this guy isn't.   Credit card services DOES NOT CALL CUSTOMERS FROM ANY CARD PROVIDER,  THEY DON'T HAVE THE AUTHORITY EVEN IF THEY WANTED TO.
They are calling me regarding my Bank of America credit card,  telling me they can offer me a change in the APR to 6%,  I'm already at 9.99% which is a great rate.
The calls started about 2 weeks ago after I've asked that they stop.  It's gotten to the point of harassment.   Yesterday they called 14 times,  so far this morning 3 times.  I answered the last call and again asked that they stop calling me,  he continued to speak over me, offering the lower interest rate,  he did provide the last 4 digits on my card and asked me to verify the 3 digit code on the back.   At that point,  I told him I called bank of america and they verified that regardless of who processes their billing,  only bank of america can make changes or offer options regarding my credit card, and they would never do it over the phone.   I did learn there are usually options and offers, however they aren't advertised, and available only if the card holder calls the bank.
He acted as if I didn't say anything and told me I have already been approved and needed to speak with his supervisor for the approval verification.
I said it again,  "I've asked you to stop calling me,  take me off your list, delete me from your system or whatever you have to do, just stop calling me.
He said he would have his supervisor call me directly,  and hung up.
I've blocked this number not only on my phone but also using a phone security app, and the calls continue to get through.

I disconnected my landline, which I only used for my security system and fax machine.   I finally added an actual phone to find out who was calling so often setting my fax machine off.
Of course you can't call the number they call you from, so I waited for him to call back which was only a matter of hours.
After talking to him,  I had my landline   turned off.
It took less than a week before they started calling my cell phone.
    They just won't quit.

I tried the police after being threatened,  the police said there was nothing they can do about me receiving "prank" calls.  After explaining the extent of the calls, the police told me to call my credit card company,  there's nothing they can do regarding a random caller or solicitor that has no call back number or other means of contact.
In other words,  the police are offering NO help.  The cop actually asked me if I really thought they would be able to respond to a prank caller who threatened me over the phone.  I guess it makes sense if I can't even give the police a phone number for this guy that actually works.

this caller or group of callers, after harassing me on my landline,  have found my cell phone number.
Unfortunately,  I learned that for some reason, a person, the government or whoever decided that it wasn't up to the cellphone companies to decide not to publish cell phone numbers.  As of January 2014, maybe 2015, cell phone numbers became public.

It is NOT against the law for someone or anyone to call you using your cell phone number.   The  law does say that you can put your cell phone on the "National Do Not Call List"  1-888-382-1222.  Has that ever worked?   If you've done that and continue to get unwanted calls, the government" offers you several options:
File a complaint with the FCC, or
File a complaint with the FTC.
Looks like the government wants the person receiving these calls to take care of it on their own.   Surprise

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

As skeptical as I was I kept going.. They transferred me all around it sounded like a loud call center. Nothing about the call was right. I could tell I kept being put on mute not on hold. They got annoyed because I kept asking questions and being skeptical. You live and your learn! I will be getting a new credit card.. I spoke with a Clive and Eva Mellen so they say. 1-888-293-5211 and they called from a bunch of different numbers. It was all very unprofessional.

I received a call from this number and the man stated his name was "Anthony" and  he was a supervisor who would reduce my interest rate.  He would not give me a number to call back.  I checked with my credit card company and they verified it was not a call from them.  I also received a call from 728-726-6784 for the same thing.  DON NOT GIVE THEM INFO

Got a call from 618-841-2967 (which is a local cell phone looking #) I answered & pressed a number...they said they were from mastercard/visa & stated that they could get my combined rates lowered to 6% fixed for the life of the credit card.  Said he was from Chase Bank of America (really?), anyway I stated I couldn't hear him (phone kept cutting out), he called me back, this time from +941-312-8878.  Then proceeds to ask for one of my credit card #'s & expiration date.  I told him I wanted literature on it before I made any decisions, he just kept on & on.  He didn't insult me, just kept droning on & wouldn't stop, so I hung up.  He tried to call me back & I just rejected the call.  He didn't leave me a voicemail or talk dirty to me...thank goodness, but someone could easily be talked into giving information.

I had this number calling me back after having an extremely belligerent young man giving me a hard time when I told him not to call me back anymore he was arrogant and condescending and when I told him that I contacted the Federal Trade Commission he asked me oh yeah what did they say what are they going to do the phone number that he called me from  originally was (201)218 2109 which ironically has the same six beginning numbers as my phone so I'm assuming it's a cell...after I hung up on him he started repeatedly calling me back or 941-312-8878 he called me three times and I just hung up the phone without answering I told him not to call here anymore and he said don't you want your credit reduced I have no credit line that needs a reduction

I'm having the same problem with these jerks, they call up with their "scary" credit card scam, and when I tell them I don't have a credit card they get highly abusive and start calling me back on multiple other numbers with only the intention of continuing the abuse.  So far they've harassed me using 941-312-8878, 720-201-1682, 720-201-1849 and 720-272-6670  .  Those numbers are in Sarasota FL (941) and Denver CO (720) yet it's the exact same woman who has been calling me .

This man with a  foreign accent called was very rude yelling at me, telling me I did not understand and that he was from visa/mastercard services and wanted to help lower my interest rate. He seemed to have a lot of my personal and card information. After I refused to give him credit card info and hung up on him he immediately call back and continued to be very rude and yelling at me when I gave him a piece of my mind and hung up on him again he immediately tried to call again 6 times in a row and I kept hitting the F*** you button. Can you say SCAM!
