precorded messge said to have certain information about your business
pretends to be fixing Google related business listings.
identified needs to ?fix your listing..provide all phone nr. ddetailed description of your products/ service, etc. also method(s) of payment for your services (Not sure)
then said we have technician standing by to take your information & answer questions
phone was then transferred to live operator ?(technician?)
sounds like a scam to put your info on google or other loications for you, then bill you..
Very similar to scams run by the "US Yellow Pages" which sends you an offer in mail to list you for free at online pages for some months. then they contact you by phone (almost like a survey) they billl you no matter if any google listing provided typical bill about $700. USYP has even threatened to take legal action, and play a an audio tape (edited) of what ypu supposedly said "yes" authorizing. service dont answer any of their questions. just say NO and hang up.
This number may have a LaGuna Beach address. a njumbe of these scma give address as Laguna Beach, plus others above. some are in Chula vista,. Sand Diego county Thesew crooks may be using TelSur call center, which caters largely to the Hispanic community. TelSur apparently is located in Chula Vista.
More infor to follow up later..- Call type: Telemarketer
- Fed-Up| 3 repliesI'm so tired of these callers. I keep pressing "2" to be removed and I still get calls every single day. If this is not Google, then Google should take action to take care of it. They have the resources. I don't want to be called anymore in the name of Google. And where do they get the phone number anyway? I have been on the DO NOT CALL for years.
- Caller: Google (Or in the name of Google)
- Badge714 replies to Fed-Up". . . I keep pressing "2" to be removed and I still get calls every single day. . . ". If you are being called by illegal telemarketers, what makes you think they would honor the "Do not call list"? All you are doing is confirming that there is a live person at your number. They will keep calling. Call your service provider to look into call blocking, or if it is a cell phone, purchase an app.
- W. W. Pizzai answered but no reply then looked on here and saw it was another robo caller.
- Caller: unknown name
- W. W. Pizzaand yet again this morning
- brian replies to Fed-UpThese *** just called me. No message. Just hung up, so I blocked them...
Note about Google. I called Google about these type of calls. Google said, they do not call people to update listings.
Also, no one at Google would ever collect info to put on Bing, yahoo, etc., because they are competitors.
The people calling you are independant..no-names..dont trust anything they say..
Just hang-up and report... - SICK AND TIRED replies to Fed-UpIf you press 2 they know a person answered the phone and will keep calling.
- sun rohDo not call to me
- Mystified| 2 repliesDO NOT PICK UP!!! Why would anyone answer an unknown long distance number??? NEVER engage them in conversation OR ask to be "removed"! That will put you on a list of "good numbers" And NEVER call back! If you do, you are "doomed" to repeated calls.
VOIP internet phone service allows scammers all over the world to call us using a "spoofed" (fake) caller I.D.s If you block one number they will just "spoof" another one. Many are in a foreign country. Just ignore them!!! And don't use your name on answering machine or voicemail. Just use your phone number.
Expensive call-blockers will not stop them (new "spoofed" numbers). Reporting them to the gov't. will not stop them (foreign soil). And asking them to be removed only makes it WORSE. It's an epidemic..- Caller: who cares
- FED UP AGAINI just got another call from this same number, but didn't answer. Pressing "2" to be removed just ensures you get more calls.
- PVTwo calls today. First time, no one on the line. Second time, I pressed whatever and got a human man with an accent, and I couldn't understand what he was trying to say. I used every dirty word in the book at him, telling him to take us off this call list. He got an earful of curse words for five minutes. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will. It made me feel better, and if they call again from a different number, I'm gonna curse them out again. We get at least one call a day from these time wasters, B.S.ers, or whatever they are.
- Caller: Google
- VickiReceived a call 1/29/2014 from 1-949-281-0045. When I answered no one was there and then the line went dead.

- get-a-real-job| 1 replyI have a couple of ways to deal with these parasites. First, I let the phone ring three full times before I pick up. I pick up and don't say anything for 2-3 seconds. If it is a computer autodialer, 80-90% of the time the computer will hang up thinking it has gotten a voice mail or answering machine. After 2-3 seconds, I say our company name, but don't give out my name. That way they don't automatically have a name if they call back and get someone else. If I still get a person and they insist, I tell them my name is "Richard Smith"(it's not). It is none of their business what my real name is, they are telescammers who are breaking the law. If they persist in calling over and over again, I tell them that my boss is available, and then I use a sports air horn right next to the phone. What are they going to do, sue me? "Your Honor, I was illegally telescamming and they deafened me!" Good luck with THAT argument. The judge might give me a medal. Reporting these "people"(I use that term loosely) to the Do Not Call Registry is futile, they are usually spoofing their phone number anyway. If you have the time, have some fun with them. See how long they will stay on hold or still be on the line if you put the phone down. Take your cordless into the bathroom and have an extended "deposit" at the Porcelain Bank, complete with very loud fake sound effects. Tell them you ARE the boss and listen to their sales pitch, never saying yes to anything, but always saying that you will look at your numbers and see what you can do. Some scammers will record any affirmative answer you give and then splice it into a call and bill you for whatever they are selling, using that as evidence of an order. Waste as much of their time as you can, because that keeps them from scamming other people, and it can be a really fun stress reliever! Anything that we can do to make this less profitable for these ticks on the butt of humanity is a plus. Feel free to pass this on or add to it with your fun ways of taking back your phone lines. If these idiots would get a real job, the world would be a better place for all of us.
This call hung up like most of them do. I listed it as a prank call because "telescammer" or "scam call" are not available choices. Based on some of the above comments, this is yet another "Bingoogleyahoo!" search engine scam caller.- Caller: "laguna beach ca" on Caller ID
- Call type: Prank
