- bb| 1 replyCalled business land line at 10:57 AM central time on February 4. This area code and number is on my DO NOT ANSWER list.
- Caller: SCAM
- Read thisGoogle turned up this site http://www.consumer-classactions.com/investig ... CFe6DQgodGnoAHg
which lists this annoying number among others - possibly used by one of two hispanic-oriented marketing companies - www.telesurtv.net/ and www.lexiconmarketing.com in Los Angeles. Both their websites appear on a quick Google search. Just blocked this number after two calls today. - Kathy| 1 replyDO NOT CONTINUE TO CALL OUR NUMBER [removed]
- Caller: Comes up unknown
- yef replies to KathySay WHAT? Firstly you insist that readers at 800notes not call your number. Makes no sense.
Secondly, what makes even less sense is that you POSTED your phone number on a public website. Yet you claim to want less calls. All you've done is guarantee you'll get more calls. D'oh! - bb replies to bbCalled again 2/4 @ 4:56 pm
and again 2/5 @ 11:10 am - Ronin949-281-0045 is an illegal robodialer claiming to be Google. It's nothing more than another SEO scam company. The Caller ID shows Laguna Beach CA. The call is a woman's voice with a British accent. She starts out with - Please, do not hang up. This is Google calling about a serious problem involving your business listing. To speak to a certified customer service representative, press 1 now. Hung up and added the number to our blocklist. Reporting the call to the FCC.gov website, as well as to Google directly, and to the Laguna Beach Attorney General's office as this call clearly violates numerous federal laws.

- VeronicaCaller keeps callin and hanging up… Very disruptive to my work day.
- Chicago EdRang wireline. Call blocked. Comments in this and other threads lament that call blockers are becoming less and less effective in defeating these pests. While it is true these jerks keep changing numbers, thus both by-passing other saved blocked numbers and surely filling up the limited capacity of the blocking devices, one can extend the usefulness of the blockers, if the device is programable. Some people on these threads are blocking entire area codes. Since the spoofed calls concentrate in a limited number of area codes for any given recipient, this will work to reduce annoyance. This is a brute force solution that cuts off possibilities for legitimate callers, In my case, I am programing area codes and the first one or two digits of the exchange. This is working quite well, without shutting out 8 million other phones in an area code. At some point, technology will overcome meager efforts to thwart the spammers, unless the telcos and the feds decide to become proactive in drafting legislation exempting these calls from free speech protections, getting rid of the C-NAM reimbursements (local telephone company pays calling party telephone company a tiny fee for use of calling party CID info), and allowing/insisting that telcos create blacklists of both calling numbers and the telcos/DID/VoIP providers who trade in this.

- prI just answer and don't say anything, you can usually tell if it's a telemarketer and not a robo call by all the voices. Then just to F--k with them I say my city's name followed by police dept. Like Dallas Police Department. They either hang up or stumble on their words. Unfortunately I have a mail order company so unless caller id says who it is I have to answer, but now I am getting to know some of the #'s.

- Socks| 1 replyThey call me everyday and sometimes at night. I have been on the do not call list for a long time and can't figure out how they can call. I am so tired of the calls that I have put them on my rejected call listing on my cell phone. Geez get a life and leave me alone.

A criminal with an autodialer loads sales lead data into said device and lets it rip. At some point your number is called. No-call registration does not render a phone number invisible or untouchable. It's not an active call block or a sentry on duty. A DNCR-compliant telemarketer *makes a choice* to avoid calling. A scammer with a cheap hustle makes a choice not to care about your privacy. - Lynn| 1 replyI just spoke with the manager of this company. Company name is Scout.
They cannot put me on a do not call list because I wasn't calling from the # that their system was auto dialing. They said to press the # on the recording to be removed. There is never a recording when they call; it 's only the sound that someone hung up.
I cannot call from that # as we are on a trunk system. All out-going calls go through one line. My line doesn't show as outgoing. I tried to explain that to this manager & he said that he wasn't allowed to "re-write code". There is not way to enter a # into the database.
There ought to be a law...oh wait. There already is a law against this.- Caller: Scout

- Chicago Ed replies to LynnLynn, Scott the spoofer is spoofing (lying to you). He (and that so-called company) has no intention never-ever to remove your number for the list. He was just joshing.
