A low intensity war between two invading extraterrestrial armies is behind the spate of bogus cell phone calls. Phones can be hijacked once the offending calls are answered. A network of these phones can be used as an electromagnetic weapon by one side against the other. As both armies have an invade, secure and extract mandate from their respective governments, fissionable weapons, biological and oxygen depleting agents are off limits. The water and certain other natural resources here must be kept intact and must not be further compromised by military or industrial activity prior to capture and extraction by the winning side. DO NOT ANSWER CALLS FROM 949-286-3971 or its associated fax numbers beginning with area code 949.

He is joking. It is a sales pitch for a Federal Govt subsidy phone and free 250 min per month for unemployed or low income. www.budgetmobile.com/prepaidphoneplan Can be a lifesaver for those who have to low an income or no income to get a phone and have a life and help get other necessities such as a place to live and a job.

I have prepaid Verizon wireless and have been getting charged .99 cents for telemarketing calls. There is no indication that the 949 number is Verizon so I ignore the call.

I called VZW Customer Service using *611 earlier in the day, so it makes sense that it's them doing a customer sat survey. The down-side is it shows up as a 949 call, not a VZW FREE call. Fortunately I never even heard my phone ring (not sure how I missed it...)

This call is a short customer service satisfaction survey from a recent call you had placed to VZW Customer Service.  They didn't leave a msg, so I called the number back.

Got to go w/ the Verizon Survey folks. I called Verizon last night for a balance inquiry & my cell's rcvd two calls from the # w/in the past 10 minutes--the last one left a vc mail. (Funny. The V rep I spoke to advised me NOT to use my phn in case I'd an emergency. lol)
I NEVER answer my cell unless I know the caller. (If a friend changes their number? "Sorry, Charlie." Better come visit <or write or email or...>).

I called Verizon, and there have been reports of scammers fishing for info, do not respond to this call or texts that say third party calls will be charged to your acct, Verizon does not send those texts to people.

These people have been calling me 3-4 times a day for two weeks now.  It is always someone with a strong accent from the middle east, sounds like India to me.  It is a different person every time.  They say that I "indicated a desire to return to school" and they want to set up msome kind of financing.  I have no idea where they got my number.  I tried to call the number on their website and all you get is a machine.  I am seriously considering suing them for harassment.

Verizon should never sell your numbers to third party telemarketers - especially if they charge your account for the call.

Well  it was verizon, and basically going to discontinue my service with them, they are Not customer friendly and they are working with the irs and govt to track each and every one of everyone's phone calls and to listen,
not something I want to volunteer to be a part of (lol)  so discontinue this with them.  Not impressed with them at all.

After my gmail was hacked, the cell # associated with it,(mine) started getting calls from this and other odd numbers and VZW receipts started coming from the usual (no return no.) and from a 900 number dated, down to the same minute. When "confusion desuaders shockers" appeared as the caller's name (something I thought only I could do) it seemed too creepy. When it started synching my contacts and my own security password became invalid, I dropped the service. Try to explain that to your CC co. and maintain a plausible composure %)~  I gave up trying to regain control of my Master google account. This same number just called again and left a voicemail to call 866 298 2014,(supposedly an electronic Verizon Customer Service questionaire, and quite possibly authentic for all I know, but I think I'll pass! I've seen 949 286 3971 listed under TW Telecom, and my internet provider is Time Warner, but enough already. I live in NY City. scam?, call type?, I don't even care anymore, it's just creepy stupid.

They left a message today and it is Verizon Wireless wanting to know about my experience I had dealing with them. Since I had spoken with customer service to fix a problem with crediting minutes they owed me, this is legit
