Not true Lynn.  I called from my land line to chat with tech support and this crazy system is calling me, calling me, calling me!  Also, I wasn't asked at all about about participating in a survey.

Ditto for me...Verizon can save all the effort and technlogy they put into thier survey and direct it to some real customer service ... or to save me some time and make the first option "If our service sucks, press 1" ... Thank you

Yes, they DO use SIM cards. I just got an LG Revelation and the SIM card was incorrectly activated and I have to get a new one. Spent an hour at a Verizon store last night trying to figure out the problem. Then it was past closing and they shooed me out the door and told me to call from home. At least the rep on the phone knew what the problem was - the store rep activated the phone on the wrong phone number and once that happens, you can't transfer the phone. I have to get a new SIM card (which is free) and have it activated on the CORRECT line ...  So get your facts straight before you shoot your mouth off.

They probably have your landline number as the one to call for surveys. I got the call today, too, but didn't answer. Glad to know from the posts here that it was a Verizon Wireless survey. I called and spoke with a live person who said that these calls are minute-free - meaning that they do not accrue minutes on your cell phone. She offered to have my number removed from future survey calls. So if you're not happy that they keep calling you, just call Verizon wireless directly at their main number and ask them to opt you out of all surveys. They will gladly do it. Customer service explained that they have a certain number of surveys that are generated per day per employee.

Avoiding all the arguments over Verizon here (which is not what this page is for!) this is a Verizon number. I upgraded my phone and agreed to the survey, and now they're calling. Didn't know who it was at first, but will answer next time they ring

Been a VZW customer forever, and love their service. So many ignorant people don't realize that if you're nice to the person on the phone, they'll be nice back. I called to upgrade my phone because I dropped and broke mine, though I was 2 months early. I was very nice and patient, and ended up getting a HELL of a deal!

How long are you on the phone with a tech vs. how often you use your phone for other calls or data usage? Is 10 minutes of being an ass to someone worth screwing up the rest of your verizon service? None of the other carriers have the coverage or quality of Verizon. Of course, I'm bias because I'm grandfathered in to the $29 unlimited service ;)

I have been with VZW for many, many years and I have never had any trouble with them or the service they provide.  They ask us questions to safeguard our account and double checking does not hurt anyone.  I would rather every tech as me for my info rather than not be asked at all and my privacy or my account be in jeopardy. I would never switch to a different carrier...heard too many horror stories with other carriers out there and am just happy where I am.  VZW just wants to keep your account information safe by asking questions only you should know.

I got a call from this number while I was still on the line with a Verizon CSR, but I ignored it because I'm screening my calls right now. Since no voicemail was left, I simply looked up the number online instead. I guess it's for some survey then, from what I've read here; if it were more important, the caller would have left a message at the beep.

I got a call from this number immediately after calling Verizon Wireless about a small issue. It was a survey about the call that I had made.... are they going to call me with a survey every time I call about something? Kind of annoying! And why doesn't a phone company show up under the caller id so you know who it is???  I thought it was a spammer/scammer!
