I got the exact same call as you same number same person "Patricia" but she said she was from LV & associates. And she had all of my info and she was trying to collect a debt that's over 5 years old with threats of legal action. Is this a bogus collection firm?

These scum bags can get you worked up. Copy and past the below letter and edit to add your own info. I sent this to LV&V Associates and have not heard back from them. That was over a month ago. If they call you again. Ask them to spell the name of thier company and ask for thier mailing address. Give them no information about yourself. Let us know wht you hear. Oh, make sure you send the letter trhough thr USPS with delivery conformation. THe letter I sent is below.

This letter is being sent to you in response to a phone conversion I had with Patricia at phone# 1 855-247-0621 Ex. 677 on 11/5/13.Be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 (b) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested.

This is NOT a request for “verification” or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION made pursuant to the above named Title and Section. I respectfully request that your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you.

Please provide me with the following:


What the money you say I owe is for;
Explain and show me how you calculated what you say I owe;
Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe;
Any statements regarding monies owed including all payments made on monies owed;
Provide a verification or copy of any judgment if applicable;
Identify the original creditor;
Billing statements from the original creditor;
Prove the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account
Show me that you are licensed to collect in my state
Provide me with your license numbers and Registered Agent

At this time I will also inform you that if your offices have reported invalidated information to any of the 3 major Credit Bureau’s (Equifax, Experian or TransUnion) this action might constitute fraud under both Federal and State Laws. Due to this fact, if any negative mark is found on any of my credit reports by your company or the company that you represent I will not hesitate in bringing legal action against you for the following:

Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act
Violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
Defamation of Character
If your offices are able to provide the proper documentation as requested in the following Declaration, I will require at least 30 days to investigate this information and during such time all collection activity must cease and desist.

Also during this validation period, if any action is taken which could be considered detrimental to any of my credit reports, I will consult with my legal counsel for suit. This includes any listing any information to a credit reporting repository that could be inaccurate or invalidated or verifying an account as accurate when in fact there is no provided proof that it is.

If your offices fail to respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt, all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request shall be sent to me immediately.

I would also like to request, in writing, that no telephone contact be made by your offices to my home to my cell phone or to my place of employment. If your offices attempt telephone communication with me, including but not limited to computer generated calls and calls or correspondence sent to or with any third parties, it will be considered harassment and I will have no choice but to file suit. All future communications with me MUST be done in writing and sent to the address noted in this letter by certified mail via USPS.

It would be advisable that you assure that your records are in order before I am forced to take legal action. This is an attempt to correct your records, any information obtained shall be used for that purpose.

So I had this number call me also. 951-403-6655 was the number he left to call him back. But the name he gave me was Darren Johnson. When he called the number was blocked. Contacted an attorney as I am a VET and the Attorney is now suing these dumb [***] For violating the FDAC.

Yes, I got a call today from these people. About a debt in 2008. Since the crash I have had no steady work and on unemployment now due to another lay off. The call came from unknown number. When I listened to the message it was from lv assoicates. The girl said she was assigned to deliver documents the next day. She also said she was from the documents service devision.  So what really can they do? I have no job. Already lost my home. I really have nothing they can take. Prior when I did have a job I did contact a bk atty. but that cost 3000.00. Really? I was just making enough monies to pay rent and food. Anyone has any input on this please help.

I received a phone call from 855 440 3955. 1st a lady was on the phone stating she was at my job with papers then she transferred me to a guy named Darren Johnson  that  work for Victor and Victor Law firm. He stated I owed HSBC in 2005 I never had a credit card for HSBC...He gave me 3 numbers to call 1 for HSBC and 2 for Capital One. I called them  and none of them had me on file...  He stated the sheriff tried to serve me papers several times at my home so  I Called my county  Sheriff department and they have nothing..

What can you do about these call I am getting tired of them. I was scammed once I am not going down that road again

Passed two days I've gotten calls from man wanting to make arrangements to deliver papers that would require a signature from me or someone over age of 18 and if I wanted to know what it was about to call 18554403955 and give them a file number.. Stupid me called and got a line about old debt they were suing me for on behalf of LV associates.. Wanted to settle for a lump some and said I could give them debit or credit card.. Said no cause I don't have it... Gave me until noon to figure it out and to call back and pay.... Got a call from " sheriffs" office here and they asked for me I said not home... Accent was horrible... He said she's there she's there I hung up... Waited and waited finally said screw it and called sheriffs office personally and dispatcher knew nothing of anyone calling me or no record of me getting served.. Said it sounded like a scam cause they'd just show up and not schedule a time to serve... Am to call back to sheriffs office in morning and tell woman there what all is happening.. Dispatcher told me that people can phish phone numbers so it'll look like I'm getting call from certain number...after this got another call from Darren Johnson wanting me to call him ASAP and left a completely different number and when he said who he was he said he was calling from the law office.. Never said actual name...
