Creditor Advocates; Debt Collector in Burnsville, Minnesota. Paying your debts is the right thing to do. obviously. But if you cannot make a lump sum payment, don't bother answering the phone. These people are rude, arrogant, and judgmental of anyone who wants to make a payment plan. You'll have to make your own statements to send in; they won't send a bill. NASTY. Their name says it all: they advocate for the Creditor. Not for the debtor. And their business model is 'bully them until they pay'.

Which is why you need to make them follow the letter of the law, send them correspondence by certified, return receipt mail, report their criminal activities to the proper authorities, and then sue them and put money in your pocket for the harassment they have caused you.  If everyone followed through on that, these cretins would be out of business and we would have money in our pockets to show for it.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
