If this indeed is a security equipment company in Fort Lauderdale, I certainly hope the powers that be have dealt with them. - Big GirlCalled left no message
- SLC| 1 replyKind of funny. I don't answer numbers I don't know. Everyone I know either lives in 1. Utah, 2. Wyoming, 3. New Mexico, 4. Idaho.
So I called the number back TrueCaller (an app to block numbers and an excellent caller ID program), shows the caller ID as "Home Security".
When the number finally answered it was a recording that said (and I mean the only thing is said) "No Routes Found".
Yup, I definantly thought it was a funny thing. Well ..... It's now a blocked number (LOL)- Caller: Home Security
- Call type: Telemarketer
- angelacalled back it said no routes found . wtf ??? and i am seeing some saying its out of florida.... my mom had a call on her cell phone..... asking for me .....I HAVE NEVER GIVEN HER PHONE NUMBER OUT ! SO are we being tracked when they call, getting the numbers we call ?
- angela replies to SLCthats what I got too !
- Helen Marshall| 1 replyCalled my husband's cellphone - needless to say, on the Do Not Call List, the most useless effort ever reporting any of these numbers to them. ID just by the phone number, which is in the Miami area. Spouse thought it was a number he knew, when he asked there was in fact a human being on the line, trying to sell him something; he just shouted at the guy and hung up. Blocked the number. Has not called our landline - yet.
- Caller: No ID on call
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Tamianth replies to Helen MarshallCriminals won't obey laws, the DNC does do what its intended to. And the complaints filed are used by all agency's. Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

E-mail: econsumerwb@ftc.gov - Do what I doReceived a call today at 12:17 pm to my cell phone. I did not recognize the number calling and therefore I did not answer the call--I do not answer my cell phone if I do not recognize the number. The caller left no message.
When I get solicitation calls to my "do not call" landline (I do not have caller ID) trying to sell me a service or something I set an appointment with them to come over. Since the caller never knows who they are actually calling (name, address or phone number), I give the address of the police headquarters as my address, the name of the chief as my name, and the non-emergency police telephone number as my number (if they ask for a number). Hopefully they waste their time and incur expenses in going to the police station.
My alternative is to give a valid address in the worst section of a nearby town; and, if the appointment is for a sale pitch, I try to make the appointment for a time after dark. - Butters replies to BrantlyYou are so dead on! That is what they are doing. Checking the number seeing if it's active then selling it. I'm blocking everything coming in lately!
