- NS| 2 repliesWe got a similar call today. A gentleman asked about our business and talked to our CEO. He introduced himself as a producer with the show "Today In America with Terry Bradshaw" and that they were looking for companies to interview for a story on brand marketing in the U.S.
But there was a catch. We would have to pay a fee to be featured on the show. This is a total scam! - tsI got the same thing. I saw this post after I received the call and it enabled me to cut the conversation short.

- PSWe received a call from Bill Bunn at Studio Staff wanting 20K for us to appear on their show

- JJCAlso got the same call - but was prepared after receiving a similar one last fall. The dude on the phone was kind of funny. He gave the intro about the program and Bradshaw link. I said I'd never heard of their program. He countered with he'd never heard of my company. Hah! Then why was he calling me in the first place? So, he went on about including us in the show - so I asked if this was a sales or marketing call and he said marketing. I asked if he'd be paying us to provide content for his programming. He said no. I said I wasn't interested, and he replied "neither are we" and hung up. All done in three minutes.

- rs replies to NS| 1 replyWe got a call from this number at 0630 Pacific time. While folks agree it's a scam, it's beyond me how a company that purports to knowing our business calls outside of what most business people see as 'normal' business hours.
- charlene-oRun far and run fast from these scammers. Over the years working for several public companies, I have been on the receiving end of such calls. The basic rule of thumb is: as soon as you hear the person is calling on behalf of a "television producer", and it's a show you have never heard of in your life, end the call and save yourself the hassle of writing down the message. They will use semi-public names as the "host" of these shows, normally a retired political or television figure - that is barely recognizable. Obviously it works, or I wouldn't have been getting these calls for the last 10 years....oh, and the shows normally air at 6 am on Sunday morning or some other ridiculous time.

- JI just got a call from this number and after "Interviewing" me for a half hour and promising a segment on fox then told me I would need to pay $20K to secure my place. I got very suspicious after that and polity told him that would not be possible.

- jimThank God you guys posted that this phone number was a total scam. They wanted to set up a time for the next day for the interview for the TV show. The girl's name was supposedly Ann Smith and the producer was Evan Golden. Their website lists a NY phone number 212-901-8585 but that puts you back to the Florida number which is 954-379-4863, ext 4348. Its the same number as 954-379-4870. When I said that this was a scam that I saw on the internet, Ann replied,"Do you believe everything you see on the internet?" I said, yes, I believe your call is a scam. She then said hat maybe my company is a scam and hung up. Two minute conversation.

- samI just received a phone call from Georgia (the assistant) and then was set up with Stan Godfrey (the producer) who wanted to put our CEO on tv! Low and behold all the claims about asking me for money to do this are true - I was asked for $19,800 for my segment to be produced aproximately 75 - 90 days from today. I was told it would be shown 19 times regionally and 1 time nationally and within shows such as CNN and Headline News.
TOTAL SCAM - Don't waste your time. Just wish I had seen these posts before I spoke with them and wasted my time...- Caller: Today in America
- Paul| 4 repliesThe funny thing is ALL of you are saying this compnay is a scam but yet you have NEVER worked with them before, you have NEVER visisted there 20,000 square foot state of the art production facilty, you NEVER hired them to do anthing for you but just becasue you get a phone call from them you automatically say they are a scam?? YOu should be ASHAMED of yourself. You are doing a total dis-service to that company and their actual clients. Unreal!!
- Jim replies to Paul| 1 replyI agree with Paul. If you receive a call from a PR Firm or Marketing Company or any service industry for that matter that asks for money, is that call automatically classified as a scam? I have never read such ridiculous blogging in my life. . One of you mentioned that you are hard working people trying to make a dollar in a difficult economy. Did you ever consider the fact that there may be hundreds of hard working people at the production company trying to do the same? Have you even taken a look at what they have produced to see if it is more valuable than you think? I would guess that you have much more time to write on blogs than to do something productive like that. Maybe you should be working harder to get your company some exposure rather than defaming individuals that probably have families and are doing it the right way. Think of it this way.....if they are scammers, you are no different than them, because you have nothing to back up your claims. Call the company and ask to speak to one of their executives or even a past client. Then I will take you seriously. Hiding on the internet is, quite frankly......funny.
- George replies to JimI personally believe that an initial phone call should not be about numbers but about having a legit conversation with intent to reach the intended target explaining what services are offered and how this can be a returned investment. If the initial call from anyone talks numbers I am naturally defensive to consider this a scam or at least a desperate measure to get my money. This may be a legit venture but there are better ways to communicate to build trust. If this is a true desperate measure to survive in this economy learning those communication skills to get in front of your intended target will determine the survival of this company. Otherwise it is an annoyance that is a "scam" because they only care about the money not the people involved.
- DETThey are at it again - don't get caught - I got a call from Kristin the Assistant to the Executive Producer of a show called Business Day. The executive producer is a so called Scotch Hills. Working on an IT sector. She was on ext 2075. SCAM SCAM written all over it!!!

- Tim Jones| 1 replyI received this call yesterday. I was very excited about it. My interview is Monday.
Im from Pittsburgh PA and grew up with Terry Bradshaw on my TV set. Terry to me is more than just a foot ball legend, he is an American Icon. He was an average guy that made it big on determination and a little good luck. I would be heart broken if this is a scam and Terry is part of it. I will do the interview with an open mind. If they ask for money I will consider it a business proposal and weigh their ability to deliver. If its a scam, (stealing my money with fake proposals), I will report it to the FBI. If its just a business asking for money to promote my company, then its simply a business decision and not a scam. Sammers need reported to the FBI guys. If you really feel you have been contacted by a scam, then help protect us all by reporting them to the FBI as well as blogging. I found the blog. I do appreciate it.. But many people wont.- Caller: Business TV
- JimNot sure it is a scam per se. It does cost 20K. It is an opportunity to have a professionally produced video. Not sure if the video is good or not. The samples on their site look legit. To have Terry Bradshaw appear in an infomercial for our company is worth something. It is not worth 20K so we passed. See below. It is a unique approach. Scam? I would consider it a scam if we paid 20K and didn't get a video. Caveat Emptor. Seems like a descent opportunity for someone with 20K to spend on unique marketing.
Brian:
Out of respect for your time and energy I wanted to provide immediate follow-up to our call.
You all have an interesting offering and we see the value. I commend your unique approach.
However, time and resource constraints will not allow us to take advantage of the offering at this time. We do appreciate the initial discussion but will have to bow out of the process.
Again, we appreciate the opportunity and wish you all the best.- Caller: TodayInAmericaTV.com
