Called just now at 1134AM.  I looked up the number and real quick and saw all the posts on 800notes and knew it was the auto warranty scam. Didn't answer. They left no message.

This is a car warranty scam. They will call you and have the correct information regarding the car you own (this is public information they gather). The person will then tell you, "We have sent you reminders, your car warranty is going to expire, and you need to renew the policy now". This is BS, as I played their game to see what they needed to go further. As with other peoples posts, I also notified they correct authorities. Everyone who receives this call, please do the same. There are many naive people who fall for these scams. They might not just want to steal your money, but your identity, make credit cards with your name, etc.

Scam caller from the "Warranty Center" about Volkswagon recall.  He was extremely rude when I called him out for not working for Volkswagon at all.... so I bit back and he hung up after telling me I was rude - haha.  Excellent customer service, ya [***]

I received a call from this # but didn't answer. It is a constant that scammers have been calling my tel # and I am sick to death of them. Please do something to stop such things before I just have my home telephone taken out. I have important reasons why I sh/not do that and someone must do something about these thieves. And some of my calls I feel are to check to see if I am home or not - are they burglars? Who knows but I just quit answering an unknown number.

They called today to the company I work for, which is a nationwide company, asking for a specific person as we didn't have anyone in this region with that name I asked which department or location she was looking for (we do get calls for other regions sometimes).  The lady got an attitude and said "I didn't ask you for a department or location" and hung up on me.  Next time maybe I should put her on hold and let her listen to our lovely hold infomercials until she can't take it anymore and hangs up. LOL :-)

And; AT&T laughs all the way to the bank. They make money from these crooks by providing service.

They do call back using another number. For every 10 unsuccessful hits, they find a sucker. My mother in law lost $299 on giving out her credit card number to a Computer protection agency because a virus was detected on her computer.

They will not stop, because they have no integrity. Change your phone number and keep it unlisted. Proof... Call the number back, and listen to the recording.... " The number you have dialed is not in service, or has been disconnected"

Your mother can file a police report : Theft by deception
And use that to ask the bank that supplies her credit card account to reverse the charges.
The "virus" they detected was probably one they put on her computer.

That's because the DNC list sold your phone number to these scumbags. AT&T is making millions and paying their taxes. The Government won't do anything to stop the cash flow.  Google, and whitepages.com are also in the business of sharing your personal data. Want proof; Google your last name, and connect to whitepages.com and search your last name. Be sure that you are sitting down, as you may faint. Quiet enjoyment of life ended with the invention of the phone.
