Unauthorized payment for government services w/o permission. this company or person when in my account and took a payment w/o permission shame on them.....

I just called because I saw this as well and it was a vehicle registration.

I have a charge with the same name and number.  However, after rreading on of the other notes, I realize it was from a title company where I paid for my renewal car tags.  That was the cost, including extra fees for not paying it at county clerks office.  So, if you have bought your car tags somewhere else, then this is how it shows on your bank statement.  I did this about a week to ten days ago.

i received this same "Government Payment" on my card. i recently went to the court house to get a copy of my Birth Certificate and thats how it was charged.

I paid my vehical registration with my debit card and it showed up "Government Payment".  It was a valid charge.

I paid a probation fee online for Midland, Texas and it came across as government payment. It's a valid charge.

Would this type of charge also include fees for probation costs related to a dwi?  I live in Houston and paid the fee for a friend, but I don't remember the amount.  Anybody know?  Was looking over my statements getting ready for the end of the year tax filing info and I think this would be the charge, but I don't understand why it wouldn't say Houston,TX instead of a 956 number from the Rio Grande Valley.  Anyway, if anyone has info it'd be great if you shared. Sorry, to be a bit more clear, I didn't receive a call, I saw this number on my financial statement and for the life of me I can only guess that probation fees/dwi fees might be listed as Government Payments.  Thanx.  Of course the friend I paid the fee for, is suddenly not available to ask so, whatever I guess I'm paying for being a nice guy. Whatever, thats life.

This company is a subcontractor to the department of transportation if you paid for your registration this is the portal that your card it run from. It is a valid company. Just so you know there is a $2.50 extra charge on top of your registration charge.

Interesting.  You said "this company" instead of naming them.  You seem to know all about the charge even though you don't know what state that person lives in.   But even more astounding is that you are giving advice to someone who posted here in 2009, 7 years ago.

This is totally fake I don't have a car or have authorized over 400 dollars. Per Google this phone number is connected to a scam.This withdrawal took place after I used my card at Quick Trip in Euless

I was about to dispute an $11 payment on my credit card to "Government Payments" with that phone number, then realized right in time that it was online payment we made for a charge to visit a local park, owned by Travis County, TX. So, not just for vehicle registrations/fees, may also be anything paid to the Texas government I suppose.

Exactly my question as well, this whole thing points to a scam, perhaps to see if it's a viable account so they can steal more money later.

Same! I saw an 11.00 charge listed as "government payment" and freaked out thinking my card was compromised, then I remembered I paid for a state park fee online and it all makes sense😂

Maybe he is just helpful..maybe he does work for them & is tired of answering calls from paranoid people who make charges and dont keep track of the expenses

I didn't get a call, I got a "Government Payment" charge on my bank account with the connected phone number 956-682-3466.  My bank tracked it down to an unauthorized charge on MY debit card, but my husband's card hadn't been hacked.  The bank person told me that it's very easy for somebody to steal the card info if I make purchases online--which I do all the time, and my husband does not.  So yes, this is a scam, I keep very explicit records of all my purchases and check my bank balance and transactions at a minimum once a day.  I'm not a paranoid person, and I know what I've purchased--this is now the third time this has happened to me, so I guess I'm going to start using paypal............

Nope, it's a scam.  Happened to me--again--today, third time in 4 years.  Going to start using paypal from now on for online purchases.......

Also seeing charges from this vendor on July 5th & 6th, 2017.  One amount for $100+, another for $200+. Disputed fraud.

They got into my bank acct.twice.took 54.83 on 10/16/17 then on10/16/17 $109.65. I reported it to my bank. It stated Gov. Payment on my bank statement.
