called me at 12:00 today. i missed the call and tried back and verizon wireless came on telling me this is a non existant number.

Calling the number back, it said: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, your call could not be completed. Please call back later."

Just got a call from this #. No idea who it is. They did not leave a voice mail.

Got a call, they left this message on my voice mail (apparently the recording started talking before the beep):

"credit card account. This call is to follow up on that information to let you know that you can still take advantage of this terrific program. Your card companies have authorized us to contact you and to show you how to lower your interest rates to as low as 1.9%. This is a limited time offer so it's important to speak with one of our representatives today. This will be the only call that we will make so to speak with an agent. Press one now or to be removed from our calling list press nine"

Yeah right, I don't even have any credit cards!

Didn't answer.  Got voicemail.  "Press 1" for free wireless home security system.  "Press 2" to be removed from our list.

I got the same call & I didn't answer. I just switched from T-Mobile to AT&T so that I can get an iPhone, Ive had lots of calls from these types of numbers since i got the iPhone. Anyone have a problem since getting iPhone

Thanks everyone for posting. I got a call on my cell today (1-19-12) from 1-971-220-1050.  I decided to Goggle it to see if there was any info on it.  No voice mail was left. I'm going to see what I can do with my phone to stop these calls from coming in. It has been nice that for years now we didn't get these calls. Now they been unleashed again....pretty sick!!

I just received a call on my cell from this number at 1:26pm PST. I did not answer, and I never do if I don't know the caller. Usually there is no message left, but this time there was one. When I listened to it there was a recording trying to sell me some sort of a security system. I just deleted it without listening to the whole thing.

I do not give my cell phone number out to many people and don't know how this co. go it.  If I don't know who is calling I don't answer.  My cell phone number is also on the do no call registry.

Don't you wish pay phones were still around so you could call them from there and let them be stuck with whoever answers.

Just got a call.  Didn't pick and no voicemail left.  Will not call back.  If it's that important, people leave me a voicemail message.

Just got a call from this number. Can't answer the phone at work, looks like the left a message, but I will be unable to check it until I get off.

sleazy telemarketing outfit called my cell & wanted to lower my credit card debt-nothing but a SCAM

At 10:20 a.m. Jan. 19, 2012, a call from 971-220-1050 (Gresham, Ore.), provided no identifying information but left a robodial message. Here's a portion:

"... some information in the mail about your credit card account. This call to follow up on that information to let you know that you can still take advantage of this terrific program, your card companies have authorized us to contact you ..."

At 1:32 p.m., a call from 501-303-4193 (Benton, Ark.), which shows up in a Google cross-reference to a collector called Nationwide Credit Inc., left no message.

At 1:37 p.m., a call from 402-817-1032 (Lincoln, Neb.), left a robodial message saying that if one continued to listen, he or she acknowledged he or she was the person they were trying to contact, and that there would be a "three-second pause so you could listen in private," followed by:

"This is Stellar Recovery Inc. at 866-860-8796. This communication is from a debt collector. This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose."

So, out of the blue, three calls, same day, all seemingly unrelated?  

What a coincidence!

They left a message on my cell phone offering lower interest rates on my credit card.  Oh really?  My credit card balance is zero.

just block/decline the # if you do not recognize it, every time you respond you are verifying yourself as a target for these types of unsolicted calls...even my junky low-tech Tracfone has this option! I do not answer the call & then immediately look up the unfamiliar # on this site, easy! safe!

A minor in our household has received multiple calls from this number.
