- TBELLTook a call today from Jackson Brown also with a heavy accent saying that he was Davenport Lawfirm in Dallas. That I owed American Cash 523.25, I don't owe any payday loans, but he refuse to listen. All he kept saying is that I need to take care of this or I would be arrested. That he had my paperwork in his hands and was going to put down that I refuse to pay. That I will be arrested and put in jail. I looked up the Davenport Lawfirm and they deal with Bankruptcy. I don't know what they are trying to prove but I just wish they stop calling me making treats.

- RichardI just got a call at work stating that a law firm has been trying to get a hold of me. I returned the call and was threatening that if I do not make payment on a payday loan within one hour. I would have warrant issued and the police would arrest me at work in the morning. The man on the phone was hard to understand and was very forceful. The man wanted me to go Wal-Mart, get a Green Dot Money Pak and give him the number on the back. I have only received one payday loan and I am current on the loan. I told him that I would retain an attorney and he will handle this matter. The man stated “what time will he call me? And he better call me or you are looking at some serious legal matter.” To my best memory I have not done anything wrong and believe this is just a scam.

- Mrs.JBoomMy husband was harassed for a week. They told my husband that he had an loan out for 756.12 from American cash loan and they gave us the their telephone and as I spoke with them, they had no information bout the loan, just his personal info. I called the law firm back and explained that I we weren't able to get any info from the so called loan place and the guy whom was supposed to be an lawyer who had an Heavy accents was very Rude and screaming at us that we could get a copy of the paperwork tomorrow when he would be arrested at his pace of employment. I begin to ask him question that he should have been able to provide but instead he continue to hang up on us; so I ask the guy to let me speak his supervisor and he stated that that they wouldn't speak to us and we would have to get an attorney and if "I called back then we would be arrested in front of our children instead of at work. So, I did an internet search of the telephone and came across pages of people complaining of scam. So I called Mr. Dave back and explained to him to go ahead in print the papers off and we would wait and if he hang us again I was going to contact BBB. That's when he begun to stutter and I explained that I have done an search and this is scam. I inform him that if my husband credit/employment was put into jeopardy, that I would turn this over to my father whom is Lawyer and we would hunt them down like the dirty dog that are and sew their [***] for harassment, fraud, and impersonation an lawyer.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown, who can't speak a Clear Word of English, but they are Lawyers who Sue People over the Phone. I do not know who these people are, but I will inform you that if you have put ANY of your Personal Info on the Internet, these people are the crooks that steal our information, to do what with I'm not sure. Whoever these Crooks are though they were able to read Me the last 4 digits of My SSN. I feel like that is too much for them to know. I plan to have this # reported with the messages to my Attorney General & I have already reported this # to FTC.

- JeffThe number 972-460-4265 is a fraudulent collection agency that is calling people who may have had a past payday loan. They call you and threaten you with arrest. There are several different numbers that these people are calling from. There is a story out there done by ABC News http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/phantom-debt-co ... ory?id=16512428
review the link and inform all you know to contact Law Enforcement to verify their claims before sending any money. Green Dot Money Pak is the common request for how to send money do not send money without verifying first. - DennisI just recieved a call at my work of all places from (972) 460-4265 sayinf that I owed $8k on a payday loan. First of all AZ does not allow payday loans and they were threatning legal action against me and told me I am going to Jail if I don't pay this. I reported this to the local police dept. Sad that they seem to prey on older people I ahve noticed as well. Phone they called from had a lot of static and they spoke broken english and were very hard to understand.

- KmaryTOTAL SCAM!!! Law enforcement officers cannot and do not collect on debt. My husband received a threatening phone call at work an hour ago (2:45 PM CST) regarding an 'unpaid payday loan'. When he asked for verification information, the caller stated that she would not be able to provide such information, but that there were 3 charges against him including theft and misrepresentation, and that my husband would face arrest and 10 days in jail if the 'debt' was not paid by 5 PM today. Naturally our response was 1) "WTF????"; 2) "Pay it off and then seek legal counsel". My husband was told that he could not use a credit or debit card, but that he could go to Walmart to buy a cash card instead. What these idiot callers don't know is that my husband is a licensed attorney. He promptly called the Trade & Consumer Protection Agency who informed him that this was a scam. We can go to the FBI website and log a complaint (ic3.gov). Scary stuff, especially when threatened with legal action. I really hope that whoever is behind this will be caught and unmercilessly prosecuted to the full extent of OUR law.
