Ok well some of us got scams - it can't be both SS and for Court. Mine is for Utah and the automated message asked for my name, ss, and message if I wanted to leave one. It was also for a judge that is not named Donald R. Jensen in Salt Lake - they have a Leonard Jensen, and I don't have any court hearings that I am aware of this is a new cell phone so how they got the number is beyond me. Also the area code for Utah is 801 not 972. So ya. I will be calling it back when I get home from work, but my friend called already and said it was a generic voicemail box. I have talked to enough court houses in two states to know they don't have a generic voicemail box. I did have a friend that had the same number as a local Salon - wonder if that is the case here as well?

The call from this number is just a reminder to show up for appointment. They ask for NO information at all.

Tammy what did you tell your marketer? ha ha ha

I have read many pages of this discussion. I have come to the conclusion that someone has gotten into SS out sourced call back service and they actually are up to something. The others are getting the legitimate call reminder that does not ask any question. The thing to do is to use common sense. Do not ever give out your SS# to anyone over the telephone. The 1-800-772-1213 is the number to SS. This is so dxxx easy to verify it is pitiful. To the elderly gentleman who said he hung up when they said he needed to answer six questions call 1-800-555-1212 and ask for the SS administraion telephone number and you will get that number. This is a twisted electronic world we live in and its too easy to mix the truth with a lie to seem legit. I wish people would stop coming up with all these new ways to combine the two by using these high tech devices. I got the call but was not there to answer it. If I had been anything beyond reminding of the appointment  I would have disregarded. If you are SS you already know my SS#. I do have a phone appointment with soon. I appreiciate what they may tried to do but those with ulterior motive make it so hard to take advantage of something people could benefit from.

I have to wonder about the number of people that seem to have looked up a number just to report it not being a scam.  Seems like an overextended phishing expedition to me.  Caller doesn't leave a message.  One more call and it joins the ranks of the block list.

OK, I'm NOT reading 10+ pages of posts to find out if this has been stated before or not. If your call is from SSA, it is real (if not asking for any info). If it is from a court or anything else asking information, it is probably a robo-dialer  or something like this site: calleridfaker.com    Just don't answer the calls.

I also got a call from the now infamous number above. I just wanted to point out a few things. There are electronic devices that can connect to a computer and a telephone, that can display any number on the caller ID. Just because the number is on your caller ID, it does not necessarily mean that the real SSA is calling. The devices can program any number in, that number will be displayed on the caller ID of the person receiving the call. In closing, it sounds like some of the calls received were from the SSA, and others were from unscrupulous sources. That is why the confusion is so rampant. On a spiritual note, people that are desperate enough to resort to those types of techniques, are searching for a way to fill the darkness within light. Unfortunately, they are looking in the tunnels.

The one wrong thing I find from the calling is "it-they ought to leave a message"!

Phone rang but nobody there when I answered. Said Texas on my mobile. I DO have a SS office phone appointment tomorrow - made it yesterday in person at the SS office locally in Louisiana.

This is DEFINETLY a SCAM, I work for SSA Disabiltiy and this is a Phishing scam to get your SS#. We always send out a notice of a hearing 20+ days in advance as WELL as a reminder call a few days before. Several people who DO NOT have hearings scheduled have received calls from this number saying they DO have a hearing when they do not. It has occurred MULTIPLE times. Reminder calls for hearings will go out from your LOCAL SSA office. Please do not listen to those who say its NOT a scam because it IS. NEVER enter your ss# on the phone, any SSA employee can look up your SS# by your last name or if its a common name they'll match it with the last four of your SS # not the entire thing. Be wary of giving out sensitive personal info!!

If this is not a scam, why would someone come to this website to say so? It wouldn't even occur to a person to come to this website for a legitimate phone call. Obviously the scammers are filling out false reports that it's not a scam. It is obviously scam on scam!

I was called by this number today for a court date, the judge was a legit judge, the court was real... but I was never informed about a court case prier to the call. They did ask even for my social security number. I called the court house to confirm every thing with them to learn that I am no where in the court system and that court houses will EVER ask for your SSN...  Damn do I feel stupid...
