- jimmythebritgot a call from this number but i missed it and it left an automated voicemail message telling me i was due in court and tha i should have recieved a notice and then to press a key to whether i had received this notice or not. then it wanted me to hand over all my personal details to a person on the other end when it connected. i hung up as i give details to nobody, i believe they were phishing for details, i have no pending cases of any type or anything of that nature.
- TheGreatAppleI received the same call today and it showed up on my caller ID as American Voice. They said that someone at this number (they called on my home phone, but never said the number) has an appointment with Social Security May 29th at 1pm at their office. I called the office thinking that I forgot to write down an appointment; they said that no one in my household has an appointment there tomorrow. The representative also said that they do not use American voice to make appointment confirmations. It may not be a scam, but Tennessee SS office said they do not use them and we did not have an appointment. The number is from the Dallas, TX area (I looked up the area code) My extended family is from the San Antonio area. Just be careful when you get calls like this. I thought it was strange, real strange.

- Amy replies to Ronald| 4 repliesI received a call from this number saying I was up for a hearing with Judge XXX on monday at 9:30. I called SSA, and they verified I HAVE NO APPOINTMENT, I NEVER HAD AN APPOINTMENT AND WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY MAIL THAT I HAD AN APPOINTMENT... SSA told me to disregard the phone call.

- confusedmissed a call on my cell from this # 2:12Pm today(7/28/09). voicemail said that someone @this # has an appointment with SS tomorrow, and it also asked me to call 1800-772-1213 for qustions or cancelation. i am the sole user of my cell and i am sure nobody else touched it for months, and i am also 100% sure that i have nothing to do with SS. so i called the 1800 # to cancel, and was told to wait for 8 minutes or to leave a message. then it asked 6 questions, starting with my SS#. i immediately hang up. will see what happens tomorrow, supposedly they will call me at 1:45 for an appointment.
- ZMy dad got a call from this number and they left a message confirming his appointment with social security.

no message
no appointment
no clue - Westell100This is the SSA (Social Security Administration) and they were calling me to remind me of a phone appointment I have with them tomorrow. It is absolutely legitimate, there is no way they would know the day, date and time of my phone appointment unless they were the SSA and they did give the 800 number for SSA if I needed to cancel, reschedule or had any questions. I am glad that they did call, I did remember I had the appointment on the phone with them but it shows me that they are doing their job which makes me feel good about the SSA.

- You don't need to know me replies to B.O.apparently not since this number just called me and I've gotten at least 5 others this month
- Be aware| 1 replyI've gotten this call. I am also applying for Social Security for my daughter. They send you a notification of your appointments in the mail such as is regulation. If they call they won't ask you for your information (SSN etc.) before your appointment. If you call them they will even clearly state they don't ask you such things over the phone and if someone does not to give it to them. Ever consider they with this number calling so many people that it may simply seem ironic that they call you the day before you have an appointment? Even if they were just reminding you of your appointment they wouldn't request any such information from you.
- LindaThis number called my cell phone twice.
I'm on the do not call list. - Leo replies to pJust missed a call from this number so i Googled it and thats how I got to this page. I dont have an appointment with Social Security so I dont think this is on the up and up.
- i hate stupid peopleParanoia? Why are you all too stupid to see what's going on here? Some people running a scam have recorded a copy of the official SS message and are leaving messages under a forged Call ID number! And YES they are running a scam. Because I have never even heard of the SS office and I DEFINITELY do NOT have an appointment.
- jjdaddyRecived a call from American Voice on Labor Day 2009. Computer said I had a hearing for my disability...(i have been on SS Disability for 2 years.) I am terrified because the place the said i had my hearing is about 75 miles from my home. I never recieved notice from Social Security. I am afraid to leave the house.

- IDIOTS| 2 repliesI Just want to say that I've read all these comments and I can't believe some people are saying that its not a scam! When it comes to your social security number you better be paranoid giving it out. Unless you don't mind having someone steal your identity. IT IS A BIG DEAL! Especially when its from a number you can't call back and you have no idea what its talking about. Always go to the government website and pull up the REAL phone number and just call and check. Its 2009 people! Its so easy to make any number pop up on someones caller id. They have machines that you can buy that do that! So even if some of you guys are getting REAL phone calls for appointment reminders it doesn't mean ALL of them are REAL. Do you really think that there aren't people out there that make fake calls with FAKE numbers to steal someones precious social security numbers? STUPID YOU if you just give a robot or a person you don't know your SS number over the phone. You're just asking to get your Identity stolen. If you agree give me a thumbs up! =D
- mary replies to Amyit is from ss the told me that i had a appointment with ss its true but yeah dont give out ur social 2 nobody but they dont ask for that they just remind you.... mary
- Chunky munkyJust got a call from this number telling me they are from the office of disability and i have a hearing scheduled in two days. The message said if I didn't receive my card to call back. Yes, I am on disability, but there is no such hearing. These [***] get your info some how and call you with something you are affiliated with. So somewhere, they found my name associated with disability and they try and call and get your info. DO NOT GIVE your personal info over the phone. If they call you they should have it right!!!!!! DONT BE SCAMMED!!!!!

- Florida77| 1 replyJust got the call this morning from these scammers.
Called my local SSA office and had them look to see if I had an appointment, which I did not. Provided them with the information off the CID and an audio recording of the message, then was referred to the OIG(Inspector General) and Secret Service in West Palm.
The number appears spoofed via systems and may not even be from Texas.
The SSA agent checked the following:
Is a govt. contractor? No.
Is from a SSA Office? No.
Is a govt. number at all? No.
Was able to dial from SSA? No.
PS:
Lots of lying skags associated with this number will post here "Oh, it's real, I have an appointment tomorrow!"- Caller: American Voice
- kevinI got a call this morning and I do have an appointment tomorrow like it said. Its just a reminder. If you get a call and you don't have an appoiontment, someone at the ss office probably just entered wrong phone number.
