These people need stopped!

Woman caller speaking English with an Indian accent.  She said that she was calling from Windows Technical support to help me remove the virus from my computer that is slowing it down.  She wanted to know where my computer was.  She wanted me to get in front of it with the telephone, and follow her directions to remove the virus.

The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

Said "Hello" several times, then a voice said "Goodbye" and disconnected.  Have received this several times, different times of the day.  When I try to call back, get the disconnected number beep beep beep, and a recording telling me to check the number I'm dialing.

Call received near midnight on a phone I use for messages only.  Because of the time, I picked up.  No one was there.

Called several times including close to 11:00pm last night.  Didn't pick up.  Very persistent.

Ditto for the number 975-964-2811. Sounds like these creeps get around. I started getting these calls a few months after I had an MSN authorized outfit in Canada work on my computers. Don't know if there's any connection, certainly hope not.
These guys have been calling, usually around 9-11pm fairly regularly.
Time to report them to the phone company and the feds.
Tired of this stuff, as you all are as well, and it's time for us to respond to the authorities.
Doubtful they'll do any thing, but one needs to start somewhere.
It won't self-correct.

Is there any way to stop these calls?!?!  I just had one at 10:46 p.m..  When I answered, all I hear is a lot of noise in the background.  I listened for a moment, then hung up.  I am tired of these calls and want them to stop.  Have put land line number on do not call list and they keep calling.  I am furious that it keeps happening!!!

Repeated calls

receive calls several times a week from this Missouri no.--not a familiar no. so don't answer--they never leave a message they hang up before it goes to machine.   Always at about the same time at night when they call 7p or so.  Thanks for the postings am very glad to have never answered their calls.  Thanks

"Roger" (Indian) called and asked for my wife.  I said that she was not home, and could I help him.  He said that he wanted to talk to her about the computer.  I told him I am the only one who uses the computer and she has nothing to do with it.  :-)  He said that he wanted me to get to the computer, and he would help me.  I told him that I have had numerous calls about viruses on my computer and why doesn't he think of getting another job as this scam seems to have run out.  He said that if I wanted to stop the calls coming he had a physician that he could recommend.  Before he got to the punchline, I said, "So long stupid."

Kansas City here, they have called my home 9 times in last 2 days and I kept ignoring the calls. Then finally I answered today and  the [***] who should have been out driving his camel to lunch said he was with Windows Tech Support.

when i went off in a tirade he hung up.

Next time I will thank him for the call and let him know I have sent a reverse virus to his computer and he had better take cover as the smoke will start billowing out as soon as he hangs up.

Or maybe I will just suggest he get in line with the Ferguson Mo protestors!

i keep getting calls from this number, they may or may not say hello then hang up.

Heavy Middle Eastern Accent male....   rattled off some message that our computer has been infected with a terrible virus and all files were now corrupt.  Hung the phone up and he immediately called back.  What a nuisance!  SCAMMER!

Have had this number calling me several times in the last week. I am in Europe. It's the same Indian Windows scammers starting again after almost a year respite. What I know: Indian organisation apparently use a dialling service to cold call. Call service location may be USA e.g. Missouri if the caller ID is valid, but the number is not traceable. If someone takes the bait, a tech takes over to persuade victim how he can get his computer fixed, and gets victim to install remote control software and give the scammer access to the computer. Easy then for the scammer to extort money for "fixing" the computer which he has taken over.

What I would like to know is whether the call centers are really in the US, & if so why they are not attacked in law for hosting phone scammers? Any answers?

Call centers are in India, using VoIP to emulate US numbers. This report is old (2012) so the scammers have re-started after a lull. So the government actions were ineffective……?
