It said[Private Office] on my Caller Id as well.

I did not answer; just thought that it was a weird
number calling me and decided to Google it.

My Mom called me and said this number was about a Government Job but you
had to pay $69.99.  This call was recvd in Atlanta....

They called New York City too at 4 pm... didn't pick up

They left a message on my machine. The message was announcing a Government job processing FHA insurance claims from my house with no experience which pays $38,000/year and all I have to do is press "1" for more information. Almost all federal jobs are listed on usajobs dot gov so I knew it was a scam of some sort.

I got a call from this number at 5:57pm in Ohio.  Jan 08 2009.   Strange number!   I also got the (PRIVATE OFFICE ) ON CALLER id.  They did not leave a message.

Caller ID gave as Wilmington MA... this seems to be a common tactic used by telemarketers and collection agencies to check for number "viability"- is there someone there alive to take and answer, in other words.

I called back using *67 to anonomize the call and the message was that they were using a list of businesses to make a solicitation call- press 2 to be removed from their calling list.

I can't say that their "opt out" is legit (after all how does their computer know the number, I called from, if it shows Private?). In some cases the message will ask that you enter the number that you want to have opted out; other cases I have had computers that will ask and verify the number that is being opted out, along with the disclosure that it may take several days (weeks) for the list to be propagated.

I take these opt outs with a grain of salt... there is nothing to reassure you that you won't have your number resold immediately to someone else as a viable number!

The number called me and I am a do not call list they called when I was not at home and was on the caller Id.

This number called and it said private office.  It is a recording offering a govt. job to process FHA loan refunds.  They want you to pay $69 for a starter packet to work from home.  BIG SCAM!

My mom l;ives in Rolla, MO and got a call about a job investigating bad loans. My mom is 84 - wouldn't FHA know this? I called the number and got the same no call message.

Got a call listed on caller ID as "Private Office," was a recording about employment involving government insurance matters.  I'm on the "Do Not Call" list and would like those responsible for this irritating recorded call to be strung up from very tall streetlights if at all possible.

Got one too.  I live in WA.  When I hit 1 for more information, it just replayed the recording.  How ARE these people getting past our DO NOT CALL?
