Just got a call from them. It was some guy telling me they are from Comcast and want to upgrade my service with a few new deals they have. I've heard of scams like this so I said I didn't want to change anything. He then asked if I ever thought of adding a home phone through Comcast and I said nope don't want it. He then asked me if we use our cell phones. I told him again I do not want to change my services. He said ok cuz of, and he said the town I live in, which I thought was odd and he knew if i lived in a home or an apartment buliding. I just said again I didn't want to change my services and I hung up. So not a real Comcast rep cuz they NEVER call you. I'm lucky when i call them that I can get anyone to even pick up the phone. Half the time they tell me the call volume is too high and they hang up on me. So this is a SCAM! I would't give out any personal info at all!

i have gotten multi calls after 800 pm. hang ups. pia! figures (after reading postings) comcast is behind this.

Do not call my number, especially since its a sales call plus you have repeated hung up.

Yes, get a Google Voice account and use your cell phone with it, and tell GV to send spam calls to hell, and they will not even ring your phone.

If the calls from CON-cast (ha) are to a landline or VOIP landline there's a cool device called CallerID with Ring Controller.  You can block virtually ANY call, plus it has features to not have the phone ring at all during certain periods (1 hour blocks).  I got mine from Amazon but not sure if they're still sold there.

Newer Panasonic phones have the call block feature.  However, CON-cast undoubtedly has a gazillion phone numbers with which to robo-call.

Another option:  File a BBB complaint !!!  The company has to respond within 30 days.  Some folks recommend an FCC complaint but all they do are log complaints until enough are received to MAYBE take action.

LONG annoying message from Comcast sales, then it offers you the option to have your number removed from its list. When you try to leave a message, as instructed in the initial recording, the box is full. When you choose "0" to speak to someone, the transfer is so poor the person who answers cannot hear you. Convenient, isn't that?

This is should be illegal.

I called back, it is a VM to Comcast sale promotional center. They instruct you to press 2 and leave every bit of info you can find in order to get you name off their list....I gave my name and number and asked that they call me back if they need anymore info.

Comcast Sales. I had switched from Comcast Voice to another VOIP service, and TWO days after the service switch they called from this number to see if I would be interested in getting their phone service! I just started laughing and told the guy I had just DIS-connected their phone service and swapped it out for one that was one quarter the cost of theirs. Didn't stop them from calling again. My new service allows me unlimited blacklisting, so now the call gets intercepted before it rings. Ahhhh, sweet revenge!

I get calls from 9788485001 on my cell phone.

Call on my cell phone; John from the Comcast Sales dept. wanted to talk about changing or bundling my service.

They left a message on my phone. She said her name was cathy

Recieved a call from 978-848-5001 on 3/9/2012 and didn't answer.  No message left.  Put it in my phone as, "do not answer."

Called the number back..

Them; Comcast Sales..........(other babble) If you wish to have your number removed leave you name and the number. It could take up to 30 days before this process is complete and you may get other sales calls.

Me: my name is Sandra...(last name) my numbet is 000-000-0000. Please have this number put on the "do not call" list. It should not take 30 days to process. It should take as long as it would for you to terminate my service if my bill is not paid...less then 24 hours!. Thank you, goodbye......

I don't answer numbers on my cellphone that I don't recognize.  If they don't leave a message and call back again, I Google their number, hence my arrive at this site.
I am a Comcast customer but this sounds like a serious scam so I'll continue ignoring their calls.

This number just called my cell phone around lunch time and it was absolutely silent for 22 seconds, then they hung up.

978-848-5001 has called about five times in the past month and never leaves a message.  It could very well be Comcast as they have done a recent installation in the neighborhood.

Rang twice then hung up.  

If it was comcast, I would have like to have talked to them, though I haven't watched TV in over ten years and not about to start, they often offer me deals where I can spend less for internet plus TV than I do for internet only.
