- AnonymThis number came up on my caller ID as "Acton", and since it is a 978 area code, I assumed that it was coming from Acton, MA. My answering machine pick it up mid-message. I transcribed what the robocall voice said: "......your current electricity bill, informing you that you are now qualified under a recent bill passed in Congress called the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, permanently reducing your electricity bill up to 60% through the U.S. Renewable Energy Program. The U.S. Renewable Energy Program will stop the 14% increase on your electricity bill coming soon. Press 1 now if you are a homeowner and are paying more than $150.00 per month for electricity. Press 1 now to STOP the bill increase coming soon. AGAIN, Press 1 now if you are a homeowner and pay more than $150.00 per month for electricity and would like to stop the increase....and, if we have reached you in error, and want to be taken off the list, Press 3".
This is just so much crap!!!! I have gotten this message before, from other numbers, but it is always the same woman's voice. This is the "Save on your energy bill" scam that no one seems able to stop. - JJCalled no message

- scottc_gloucmaSame number. Called at 8:50pm on a Monday night. No message
- Larry| 1 replyCalled and left no message. I checked this number on Mr. Number and saw that there was also a complaint about a similar number (978-881-0964). Thus, this may be part of a series of numbers starting with 978881096 used by some call center.

- Too Smart For My Own Good| 6 replies100% SCAM perpetrated, no doubt, by FILTHY RICH AMERICAN 'CORPORATE' Types using OVERSEAS CALL CENTERS to circumvent the DNC LAWS. STRONGLY believe that the US CABLE COMPANIES are IN CAHOOTS on this, RUNNING ADS from these CORPORATE THIEVES for "Switching Your Electric Providers" (which ALWAYS ends up costing you MORE in the long run) and "Going Solar" which translates to "BUYING SOLAR PANELS SIGHT/SITE UNSEEN Over the PHONE from a Complete FOREIGN STRANGER with a CREDIT CARD **SCAM**. Then the CABLE PROVIDERS are SUPPLYING these FILTHY RICH THIEVES with the NAMES & PHONE #s of their SUBSCRIBERS to HARASS us until we give in and provide our personal info so they can RAID OUR POCKETS as well as the POCKET OF THE GOVERNMENT for all kinds of Corporate Welfare.

- Tamianth replies to Rick| 2 repliesConsider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

This message was brought to you buy “Little green men”, you wouldn’t have toilet paper without us. - dmcalled, left no message. When called back recording tells you to push 9 for the do not call list.
- SMYGot same call on 11/11/15. Didn't pick up but my mailbox is full so I am only now checking to see if number was legit...guess not!
- Reggie replies to MartyKeeps calling. No message.
- OldyGirlThis call is going to my cell phone and I am being charged per minute - it happens at least 10 times a month - Have tried everything but calls keep coming.

- KenWe got a call from this number today at 8:54 pm and didn't answer. This was a robocall. A voicemail message was left regarding reducing our electric bill. When I called back I heard a recording which instructed me to press 9 to be placed on their do not call list. I did so, but since our number is hidden by default on outgoing calls, I don't know how this will be possible. Furthermore, we have distinctive ring, and the number they called was our business number, not our non-pubished home number. We have gotten the same call from 978-881-0965. I will add the area code and exchange (978-881-####) to our call blocker. I highly recommend such a device to avoid these nuisances.
