Received a call at 10pm last night.  Did not recognise number or name (Shirley Stoner) so did not answer. Having looked up the number and reading the above comments my suspicion regarding a scam seem to be correct.

Just got a call from Shirley Stoney. Man claimed to be Microsoft tech. As soon as I heard "microsoft" I hung up. We get these calls at least 3-4 times a week, always from different numbers. So annoying!

Insult the foreigner. I kept repeating ...YOUR ENGLISH IS BAD! YOUR ENGLISH IS BAD!

If you use a sports horn and blast it in the callers ear. They have the right to SUE. There was a legal case like that so becareful.
Better to crucify them at the stake and let the polar vortex freeze them!

8:30 in the morning and get a call  from Stoney Shirley and husband answered and heavy foreign accent said we had a virus from our computer sending it to his server. My husband said he doesn't know computers and to call back when wife wakes up in a couple of hrs . Total scam and I hope they call again b/c I will give the "dingus" a piece of my mind ...grrrrrrrrr

Man with heavy accent just called about my computer sending a virus message to Microsoft.  I told him he had the wrong number and he said no he didn't, that I was Susan. I said where are you calling from? India, Phillipines, etc.? Wouldn't answer. I told him Microsoft wouldn't be calling me on the phone about my computer and I hung up. Beware!!! Look up computer fraud!!!

The caller ID said Shirley Stoney and the number was 989-792-0535. Scam call. Did not answer. Number is Saginaw, MI

Man with a foreign accent called today asking for information about my "Windows Computer"  saying its sending viruses.  When I asked for his name, number and to call back he said it would be too late.  I told him this was a scam and never to call back.

they called saying  computer  downloaded a virus they have my serial number.. bla bla bla   told  me stop  acting  like a kid..they laughed when  transferring  me  to another person  dont fall for it  I   told them right  away they were scammers...

Same number and identification as Stoney Shirley.
Did not answer call.
Seems that the number of these scam calls has really increased in the past few days.

Received a call at 10:25 PM this evening (1/8/15) from Shirley Stoney (busy lady it seems from other posts), has an accent, and I could hear other people on phones in the background. There was an echo and a delay in conversation. She had an urgency in her voice and said she was calling from Windows Microsoft and that they had detected a very bad malware on my computer and she wanted to help me get rid of it. She was insistent that it had to be taken care of immediately. A friend had already alerted me to this scam as she had been called by them. I just told her I would call my very expensive tech person immediately, thanked her, and hung up.

Called the house at 9:30 this evening.. [***] woke up my baby.. :/ We tried to call them back, but proved fruitless.... Ugh. Total scammers!

My cop buddy just got back to me.. Seems to be a VoIP or Magic Jack number....

These callers are the ones that wear used toilet tissue to cover their heads.

Monday I got a call from a man, tonight it was a woman. Monday I asked how they got my phone number. He said it was on my license info. So I asked him for my name, email, license id number or ip address. Then he threatened to deactivate my Windows os. I ask which OS. He said Window. I asked which version I had. He said it didn't matter. I asked for his name and phone number. He hung up. Tonight I just hung up.

From the same number they called me and said is from Microsoft and my computer has virus and they new
my last name I think they are getting the number from public record. The local time in pacific coast is 10:30
PM and this number is Michigan number I think some kind of fraud is going on from this number.

Called me at 645am  - I picked up the phone before thinking - caller ID said stoney, shirley - you better be stoned if you are calling me at that hour! Male with program English said I need to speak to the owner of the computer.....I just yelled and said ar you serious its 6am! He said I will call back later told him dont bother and hung up on his a$$ - UGH really?!!!

Yes all the same as other posts!! It was around 7AM in NY I never answer strange #'s but thought bc of the time maybe just in case.  I was still 1/2 asleep and my heart was racing and was listening only bc I did have some computer problems and was in touch with Microsoft quite a bit at one pt, but then (as I woke up) started to realize it was a scam. Morons!
