- Sly| 2 repliesTVS travel services ... Claiming i won 1 of the 5 following prizes cause i filled a ballot in the summer ... just need to show up at their Ontario office ... saying that he's calling from the head office in New-York. The funny thing is that he asked for Mr. ABC ... where ABC is my wife's last name, not mine ... I would never use my wife's name ... but i heard about this kind of phone calls before ... so i stayed on the line to get as many details as possible ... the address for their supposedly ontario office is : 216 chrislea road , woodbridge , on suite 202 ...
you can check out this link where somebody else describes what happens if you dare to go there ... http://www.groupsrv.com/travel/post-44615.html
BEWARE !- Caller: TVS
- JJJ| 1 replyI just received the same phone call and I was skeptical about the whole prize thing because I did not recall filling out a coupon in Dec 18, 2007 as I was out of the country. The guy gave me the following info: TVS Gifting Centre: 216 Chrislea suite 202, woodbridge ON. After I declined the prize I went to the web and found this website. Thanks for all the info and this confirmed that the phone call was a scam.
- Caller: TVS Gifting Centre
- bak replies to JJJI had a similar call last year. They said they were calling from Buffalo.
- Monajust got a call from John (who mispronnounced my last name and had an Asian accent) from TVS Brooklin NY , saying I won. That I had supposedly filled out a ballot in some mall and gave me a ballot number. I told him I didn't recall filling out any ballot for TVS. He told me the same think that it was in Woodbridge Ontario. I let him tell me all the wonderful things I had to pick from and I just had to show up and pick something in front a lot of people. He kept saying the didn't want money or anything (like I beleive that). They he wanted to confirm info. He again said Mrs and mispronnounced my last name) had the address correct and of course the phone number because he had just called me. I asked him what my first name was and he said there wasn't a first name and I told him he was full of bull**** because I never sign or fill anything out without my first name. I told him to f*** and remove my number and not to call again

- Danadon't have caller ID so can't confirm the phone number, but it is the same information, company at 216 chrislea road , woodbridge , on suite 202. when i said i couldn't go all the way to woodbridge, they promptly hung up. also, i didn't fill out any ballots last summer, and we didn't have our current phone number then. the guy calling also thought we were old and rich - 50-65 years old making over $50,000 a year! that got me suspicious, and the comments on this website confirm the scam.
- JKOh my gosh!
They just called me a couple of hours ago and I was all set on going to 216 Chrislea Rd in Woodbridge tomorrow for 6:45, but I just had to look them up on the internet. Thank you guys for these posts! I couldn't find anything for TVS Vacation Co. and I finally searched the address and found this message board!
The guy I talked to was very nice to me although that's probably because I was naive enough to believe him. The one thing I was quite skeptical about was when I told him I was 28 years old. He said that I had to be 30 years old to qualify... then he said that he'd do me a favor... he basically told me to lie and that no one would check my age if I brought 2 pieces of ID that didn't have a birthday on it... he told me to use a credit card and my costco card.
That really should have tipped me off on the scam... looking back I really must be very naive! But the guy I talked to really did seem very nice and genuine on the phone, he seemed to want to help me. I guess I just couldn't imagine someone talking to me as genuinely as he did... to be a con. But I guess the best con-artists are the believable ones.- Caller: TVS Vacation Company

- Bit- bitinteresting....the same situation as all of you described here happened to me only few hours ago and I was hoping that it can be true for a moment about the person's speech - even if I didn't recall that someone in my family fills out a ballot in the winter time(he suggests that I lie about the incorrect income, age, that it is necessary to put in a form and told me to find a baby sitter for my son because he is not allowed in their center????)....I think that it can be something dangerous if you are going over them and show your bank ID and the other ID....I really do not know and I am not going to risk something....I am very upset about these guys!
Thank you for your postings!- Caller: bit

- jane replies to Slygot a phone call on May 22. caller asked for my son, caller's voice was unrecognizable yet he said he was my son s friend, named John Cavallo, when asked for a phone number to return call the caller hung up
- Cornet| 1 replyI just received a call from 999-299-7646 claiming I had won 1 of 5 prizes and I had to attend a draw to find out which one I had won
According to the man on the phone with a heavy accent I had filled out a coupon during Christmas for the draw and asked me if I remember doing that. I said I didn't but it was possible I had.
He gave me a confirmation number R1574 and a call back number so I could check they were legitimate 718-673-6170 and asked me to write down the 5 prizes I could draw from.
Canadian 1000$ cash
60 flat screen high def tv by RCA electronics
Royal Caribbean cruse trip for 2
1 week accommodations at Hilton head resort gift set of 10 golf clubs
6 days and 5 nights in Orlando Florida or Cancoon Mexico
After taking down the list of prizes he said he needed to confirm my information. He asked me to confirm my phone number which I assumed was safe to do because he had already called me at that number. Then he asked me to confirm my address which I did. Then he started listing off personal information about my age, martial status etc, all of which were wrong so I hung up smelling a scam. Then he called back.... I was already looking up the number on the internet so I kept him on the line while I found the information. Everything pointed to scam. I said to him if I had filled out this coupon then the information you are he was asking me to confirm should be correct because I would have given the correct information. He then transfered me to his manager who sounded the same as him but with a different accent. This person tried to get more information out of me and keep me on the line. At which point I said I had researched their numbers on the internet and that all the information on them said it was a scam and hung up. They called back again this time someone else in the house answered and they hung up after hearing it wasn't my voice.
The only information I confirmed was my phone number and address, and they have my last name, I did not give them my first name. Should I be worrying about this?
I called a police number and they took down the information and said they have had complaints about this number before. They gave me the number to phone busters and their website. www.phonebusters.com and I reported the scam there also. - Sandy1| 1 replyI received a call from TVS and the guy told me he was looking at my "coupon entry" and he wanted to verify name address etc. I said yes, but I didn't fill anything out and I'm not interested. He said to me "i'll tell you what you do then, go f*** yourself". Then he hung up on me! Totally shocking and disgusting to say the least
- Caller: TVS
- Call type: Unwanted
- Cornet replies to Sandy1You can call the police for someone swearing at you on the phone like that. Most phone service providers also have a * number combo you can press to track the call's location. If you call the police on them the police can retrieve that information from your phone provider and go to the site they are making the calls from, and potentially shut them down.
- 999-299-7646 replies to Cornetjust had a call from TVS travel number 999-299-7646...said i filled out a ballot and they have our name of 150 ballots out of 10000, correct info on the ballot that they repeated back. said i won one of 5 prizes, cruise, 60 tv, $1000 cash, 1 week at Hilton Head with a Ping golf set, disney holiday. there were throwing around the name Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, RCA, Hilton, Orlando. My claim # was R1574, then he transfered me to someone else name Jay Benks, when I told him to hurry up with this he said he would call me back and then hung up. i reported to phone busters
- emily replies to SlyI agree with you. This is a total scam, the person on the phone does even know my name. She just used my last name the whole time and tried to gather addition information from me. Don't tell them anything, they're just trying to get you to there office and sell things to you.
- FeelingNaiveThis just happened to me...I can't believe I actually let them go on and on...I was taking down the info but had no intention to go. All the personal info was right (lucky guess for them - so I thought I actually did fill out a ballot). I hung up them once they asked me for my first name and I told them it was the same as what they had - they only had my initial and that's when I knew it was a scam - I never use my initial in filling out ballots but my phone listing only shows my initial. When I called him on it he didn't even try to defend himself. Is there anything that can be done about this?
- WorriedI got the same call, from the same number about 5 weeks ago. The man with the accent said his mane was Marc Anthony. They gave me the same woodbridge address.I was very clear that they needed to take me off their list. I had no interest.
I researched them online. The company is called The Vacation Store in Vaughan. Their actual number is 905 856 1747. They sell timeshares.
About a week later I got another call, same guy, same name, same story. I told him again to remove me from their list and stop calling me.
I got about 6 calls until today.
Today when he called I told him to stop harrassing me or I would call the police to have him stopped. He proceeded to swear at me for a minute. I asked to speek to a manager or supervisor. Then he started to threaten me. He said he had many police charges against me and that I didn't scare him. That I was the one who should be scared. That I had no idea who I was talking to and I should be worried, very worried. I have called phone busters. They said they have had many calls about this number and company. They get you to buy a $7000 time share for $20,000.00. And then give you a free trip worth about $1200.00.
IT IS A SCAM!!!!!
Luckly I recorded most of the call and am now going to forward it to the police too.- Caller: TVS Brooklin (really The Vacation Store)
- CornetI also got another call from them today, this time a woman. Told them I had received called from them before and was not interested and hung up. I am happy you are going to forward your recording to the Police "Worried".
- lady_diceI received a call today from this number claiming I had filled out a drawing card some pizza joint last Christmas. Thing is they were using an old address for me. They guy explained it away and I let him and then his manager go on while I was taking notes. I was skeptical, but still made the appointment. Other than my first name and knowledge that they had the incorrect address I gave them no new information. I will not be attending my "meeting time" to get my "prize" tomorrow. Thing is that I live and Bellevue, WA and am being directed to a Starpoints Resort office all while being told that it isn't for a timeshare sale.
Searching this online I found the number 202-552-1557 associated with these same calls to other Seattle area residents. It seems like everyone else reporting on this number is in Ontario.
Thank you for putting your information out here so that all of us can find out what this is about. - Alexei MikaelvichYeah, this douche kept on calling and stuff, first we tried ignoring but he kept on calling. So I answered "chatted" with him then he started making threats and crap like that, so iunno...should I call the cops about this??
