My brothers ex wife and her new boyfriend spoofed foul messages supposedly from my brother to his stepson. The police "examined" the phones, there was no evidence of any bad messages on my brothers phone, but there were nasty ones that were on the boys phone. There were other numbers that were on the boys phone too which are all scam numbers, The police said that my brother could have "deleted" the messages. But the dept. has cellbrite technologie which can literally scrape the cloud and retrieve data from even burned phones. I looked at the phone statement and for a month there are texts coming and going 24 hours a day. I filed complaints with verizon, the fcc, the attorney general, the DOJ, the FBI. They are trying to prosecute my brother in court. "she doesnt want to share the house proceeds". We have spent over 20 thousand dollars. I need to know if there is a way to prove the phone was spoofed?

The IRS is now directing the public to report any IRS impersonations at the link https://treasury.gov/tigta
You can also get there using tigta.gov
Click the Red box on the right side of the page.
TIGTA is Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration

It's mighty strange, the above message - IRS directing impersonations to their link - why can't there be a data base that blocks the numbers that are being called from.  I got a call once, caller saying, my windows need to be updated, I told him pretty quickly that I was in the process of getting my wife pregnant and I couldn't talk now, he told me, I'm sorry and hung up.  Also I lead the caller sometimes and tell him yes I got windows, all around the house, he kept insisting windows on your computer, I just kept him busy on the windows on the house, he just hung up. I think ATT has some service  thru them that can create your own data base and block up to 1000 calls however it is a monthly charge for that service.

From what I found : only 20 calls can be blocked, not 1000, so almost worthless.

I would like to know who you would report IRS phone scam who threatened to kill you. I reported to the FCC & FTC. I got a response from the FCC telling me pretty much that my complaint was closed as of today. It worries me how much info these people have on an individual i have a child who is active military and for someone of foreign decent to threaten your life is a big deal to me. If someone knows of who I should contact I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance

I have at least 30 phone scam call me every day. I Donot see any security in us anymore. The latest is 800-9469, 800-7868,800-7781,800-7793. Also midnight the phone number 1-587-500-4229 continuously call every 5 minutes. The best way to deal with this problem is unplug my phone before to go to bed.

There are good apps for android/iPhone that block all unknown numbers not in your contacts. It will send them straight to voicemail or just hang up on them. If you don't keep notifications on, you'll never even know scammers called unless you have it setup to leave voicemail messages.

If someone has threatened to kill you, call your local police.  They're the one who will handle that kind of threat and if necessary, they'll bring in other agencies to help.

The biggest mistake you can make is adding your number to the 'National do not call list.'  That's the main place that provides your phone number to these criminals. I use AT&T for my phone service, and the nearest phone store is 300 feet from my house. So I pay my phone bill which is around $275.74 per month for 5 phones in person, and in all single dollar bills, and the change in pennies.  AT&T supplies phone service to people known for criminal activity.

Go to www.Kaspersky.com, download the software and run it.  If you have any of the items discribed it will find them and delete them.
It is by far the best anti-malware software available.  Also it will keep your computer from getting the infections again.  If you buy it - it
will update automatically, warn you if you've logged on to a site with malware, etc.  You  can also try Malware Bytes also a good one but
fails in comparison with Kaspersky.  Good luck

I have voice-mail on my phone, and it works wonderfully. + Every evening I check my messages and so I can determine which calls I should return (someone I want to talk to) and which ones I delete, good riddance to bad rubbish!

Oh yeah---be advised that the IRS will never phone you unless you've called them first. If they need to contact you for any reason they will send you a notice on official stationery VIA POSTAL MAIL.

Wow this forum contains some real super-cyber type intrusions I hope to never encounter. But as far as your cell & landlines go, when the phone rings, apply my simple equation:
Unknown caller "+" no msg left "=" SCAM
If you respond to these "phishing" calls you'll be "hooked" for more calls attempting to drain your bank accts & likely funding terrorism!!!
