Very thoughtful ideas!! W/ junk faxes, I've gotten the sellers' names by feigning interest in their product/service - the fax broadcasters are harder to find.
The problem is with AT&T you are only allowed to block a maximum of 20 numbers. Also, if you block a number that you know is a telemarketer, they usually have several lines that they call from, and you need to block each of their numbers, which adds up quickly to 20! It does help some, though.
