Member Account Number: 12215888 - lex replies to TheDrMasuessI received the same letter with a check in the amount of 1,360. The company name was different (Market Viewpoint), however the scam is the same! All addresses and numbers did match up and all fake! Please beware.
- Nicole| 1 replyi just got a check today for $1200 with a legitimate credit union name, address, and banking info. This is a scam! I reported it to the credit union. Also, if you actually look at the letter sent, holy typos! Any repretable company would not send out such trash. It was from Market Viewpoint in Atlanta, GA and Gesa Credit Union in Richmond, WA.
- William replies to Nicole{{ giggle }} You have a typo too - repretable is spelled reputable {{ giggle }}
- Betty| 2 repliesThey are still sending out checks, folks! I got one today for 1300+ and thought it strange that the check is in a legit credit union in one state, the letter came from Joseph Coring, now in Canada apparently, and in checking on the name of the company they are legit in the U S in Penn. this goes to the bank for their use in case anyone else gets a check and then to authorities. Market viewpoint is a legit company as far as I can tell but they are located in Penn and have a website that describes how you might become a shopper.
- Have fun replies to BettyWhen that check bounces and you're on the hook for the +$1300
- WolfmanJack replies to BettyInteresting how you failed to mention the big scam warning about fake checks on their web site. Why is that?

California Shoppers Beware:
Fake check scammers have been around for many years, adopting identities that suit them, trying to appear legitimate. They may represent themselves as officials from a lottery, telling you to cash a check they send you and wire a portion back to them because the check mistakenly was for more than you supposedly won. They may respond to your ad to sell your car by sending you a check for more than your asking price, then contact you to ask you to wire the difference back to them so they can fly out to pick up the car. Fake check scammers have a thousand stories. Don't fall for them. Especially don't fall for a claim that Market Viewpoint wants you to cash a check and do some mystery shopping! We will NEVER send you a check and ask you to wire a portion back to us. Anyone who claims to be Market Viewpoint and asks you to do that is a fraud.
If you receive a check, regardless of who it is from, asking you to cash it and wire a portion to someone else, DON'T! Instead, immediately contact the organizations listed below.
Call police (they may not be able to do anything, but filing a police report can help if discover later if the scammers are caught)
File report with your state’s Attorney General
File and report with www.phonebusters.com.
File a report with the Internet Crime Complaint Center www.ic3.gov/default.aspx.
File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission by telephone at 1-877-FTC-HELP or at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov.
If the package with the check came by U.S. mail, contact your local post office and ask for the Postal Inspector (be sure to take a copy of the stamped envelope and its contents).
A useful resource about avoiding mystery shopping scams and finding legitimate mystery shopping opportunities may be found on the Federal Trade Commission's website at www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt151.shtm
California Shoppers Beware:
If someone named Monica Sweeney or Bright Campbell claiming to represent Market Viewpoint sends you a check and asks you to cash it, wire most of it to someone else, and report on your experience with the wire service....don't do it! It's a scam! Someone is doing that very thing and, in some cases, is providing a toll-free number for their scam targets to call...and they answer the phone as if it were really Market Viewpoint. It is not.

That was it , it was from alexbrook81@gmail.com. I have responded to his email asking him for a phone number so I can talk to him direct. I am sure he will have an excuse or if I do get a number it will be false. If I do talk to someone I will know by the accent. They can't hide that real well. I can let you know how it comes out! - ANON replies to Dawn OTHIS IS A "PHISING" SCAM!
Do NOT give them any information or reply to the email unless you enjoy your email in-box OVERLOADED with SPAM/Junk Mall.
Just for fun a while back, I signed up at their web site using a false name, address, phone, etc and gave them one of my newly created UNIQUE disposable email addresses and with in 5 minutes my disposable email in-box was loaded with spam from all over the world.
STAY AWAY FROM GLOBAL TEST MARKET. - Dennis replies to Randall Chapman| 3 repliesThis is not the real Global Test Market (globaltestmarket.com) phone number. If this is a scam, it has nothing to do with the real Global Test Market. I have been dealing with them online for over a year now.
They are a legitimate online survey company.
