Lone Stranger's input hasn't been seen since last July and he's likely not coming back, so you got your wish. This, despite your critique of a single post, is a loss to the 800Notes community. He was among the most learned contributors here, and usually cautious to a fault. He was also correct about Lamet, who also submitted much which was helpful but with an often abrasive and sloppy style, including the somewhat spam-like behavior addressed early in this thread.

I'm not sure what your preferred "natural style of writing" is, but "natural" would seem to be a subjective state. Back in college English, making every student sound the same on paper was never on the lesson plan. We need diversity of viewpoint, of experience, and writing style to make this site function well. We also need a little managed conflict, a certain amount of debate. The problems surrounding nuisance callers are varied, and so are their solutions, and so are the lenses of experience everyone brings here. It can take a whole group of us to polish the glass enough to see out the window at the real problem under discussion. Stranger was asking -- three years and change ago -- for clarity, not cheap applause. In his stead, I'm asking you to look around a bit longer before chiding people for their perceived character flaws.

...much time on your hands. This thread has been dormant since 2014 and lone stranger's post was in 2010.
