} i told you not to by phone and by email witch [sic] you never even responded too [sic]

Can you prove your demands were heard or read? You think about that as I give two takeaway words: Certified Mail.

} your customer service is awful

You are not the customer of a debt collector. Creditors and debt buyers are. You are a target, a funding source, cattle for slaughter. A lawbreaking agency exists to help its own self, not you. To manage money well, you don't take orders, you take charge!

In that spirit, I question the wisdom of trusting a debt "fixer". I've come to realize that every entity which buys time on my cable TV local ad insertion system is to be avoided. Consolidated has run TV spots for years now featuring puppy-eyed talking heads and soothing language, but nothing explaining the actual financial rescue plan. Client comments online which do not vaguely gush about personal shame and redemption like they've been to a faith healer reveal that there is no plan.

Reports say the "fixer" charges monhtly fees and dings bank accounts *before* a service is rendered, is not transparent about what its charges are for, provides indifferent customer service, and has little or no interaction with creditors as implied. Its game seems to be to sit on redirected credit payments for two weeks to fuel its own backroom investments and charge people for the exercise. As usual for these "fixers", it's promised service is nothing a debtor cannot arrange and manage solo and for free.

    STEVE O
They keep on calling me and I have told them over and over about 67 times to send me information on the so-called debt and nothing. I have told them if they have a case let go to court nothing..The Attorney General said they buy these debts for penny on the dollar and try to get some money....One person told me they write a fortune five hundred company...What a joke.

    Yes!!

One thing about Settlements (different from unpaid chargoffs)........

If a settlement is given, any amount forgiven after $600.00 is viewed as taxable (unless insolvent). At the end of the year (I assume when you get your W2), you may get a 1099-C from your creditor.
