For rebuttal purposes only ..... This piece of spin doctoring has been dumped on several consumer forums in the past ten days. Where the forum requires membership, it's always by a newcomer using the "PRAInfo" handle. In at least one case the URL was misspelled, pointing to an unregistered domain .... so typical of the "help" Portfolio Recovery offers.

This limp olive branch I'm sure has _nothing_ to do with how easy it is to find complaints against PRA in the top page of search results on the business name alone. Feel free to deny this is connected to this month's merger of PRA's muni-sector agency brands under one roof called "PRA Government Services".

Tell your boss Mr. Fredrickson that he would not need damage controllers like yourself or "specialists" in quality control if lawbreaking, fraud, and intimidation were not part of his business model.

Here is an email address I uncovered for Mark Davidson, Assistant Vice President of PRA. If their calls persist (like they did for me), FEEL FREE to let him have it. Bug them like they bugged you!! Prior to these calls (and still till this day) I have had ZERO debts and have been an extremely responsible consumer, so there should have been no reason to receive these calls, multiple times a day, each and every day!

So here it is. Have at it!

Here's a detailed review of PRA's deceptive and not really all that helpful "resolution" site, which was recently pushed on 800Notes again. (I believe last month) The thread was rightfully purged as a duplicate.

Now if only PRA would stop calling from various numbers every freakin' day!
I don't even have to look up the numbers on here any more.
They call more than my M-I-L !
I have people with different last names living with me.
The debt is owed, but no job, no money, CAN'T pay.
    Sigh

Like I want PRA to mess up my computer! I'll pass on that.
It's bad enough that they call 7 days a week!
    Ugh!

A worm or virus would be the least of your troubles in tangling with PRA. In a debt dispute I would trust a Cert Mail paper trail long before any softsoaping website tilted in a collector's favor.

GiG, if you've followed my entries on this site I shouldn't have to tell you to learn your FDCPA rights and that you can revoke call consent any time. Or have you done those preliminary things and PRA is being stubborn?

It's my mom's debt, but I don't have POA, her brother does.
She's completely bed-ridden, which wouldn't stop PRA. She doesn't have any assets of any kind.
I'll just turn this over to my uncle. I have enough to handle now.
Yes, I've read your very informative posts and I've read the FDCPA.

} "She doesn't have any assets"

Put another way, Mom is judgment proof. Any lawyer hired to collect will have an uphill fight. Realistically your uncle can, at his option, monitor the collectors, and anything they reveal to other family members, for violations to sue over.

You and other third parties taking skip trace calls don't get the full blanket of FDCPA, but it does cover "any person" if an agency is abusive or creates an annoying / harassing call pattern. I always tell "not me" cases to send a cease-comm USPS Certified. At the least this may lay a trap for a long shot TCPA suit, and it tells the offender you are as serious as cardiac arrest about silencing your phone.
