    Class action law suite will stop this. There are Government guide lines set in place to stop this type of abusive collection tactics and can be sued for it. Not only can you sue the company you can sue the person calling. It only takes 3 people to start a Class Action Law Suite. They harass us, threaten us so take the call only if you can record it, real fast say your being recorded. Also put them on a no call list and keep track and make sure the VP knows, everyone everyday just as much as they call you email the VP AND ASK HIM WHY YOU ARE BEING CONTACTED  because your on the no call list.

    Agents why are you even working there??? and to that I'm a nut job who called up yelling you need anger management classes.....What go's around comes around.

    The only problem with a class action lawsuit is that the lawyers get rich while you receive an mere pittance.

    "Class action law suite will stop this"  They have been sued and lost an 82 million dollar judgment.  Still going strong.  As was pointed out, a class action only benefits the lawyers.  You are much better off suing on your own as the law allows.  You have an FDCPA, State collection laws, possibly a TCPA, and also FCRA suit in the making.
    The no call list has no bearing on a debt collector since they are not covered under those laws.

    They bothered me for awhile but lately the calls are sporadic. They'll call 2-3 times over a few week period then I won't hear from them again for several months. I got a letter from them once several years ago. One of those generic payment option things. Not really enough of a bother to me to spend any time on. I ignore the calls and smile at the thought of these idiots wasting their time on a very stubborn and informed person like myself. My thinking is that any hint of activity, be it a letter or a blocked call or anything gives them hope. I can imagine them yelling out in the office.. "I've got a live one over here!"
    An unanswered call gives them nothing.

    This morning I got a call from an unknown number. Somehow I remembered this site and checked the number. As expected it was from them. While here I read through several posts and just wanted to put my $.02 out there.

    I did a google search and came across an article on PRA. The writer puts a positive spin on it. Despite that there is some interesting info....

    How true.
    I just got one of those cards in the mail for my dad. I believe it had something to do with  mortgage company. The class action was originated by two plaintiffs. Each would receive $5000.00 ea. anyone else that makes a claim would get $20-$40, depending on how many people put a claim in. The attorneys, well let's just say it was a 35 million dollar lawsuit..
    I threw it in the trash.

    Really? Tell us the court where you live. We'll check out your story and the context thereof.

    Context: that's a big-peoples word for "little details scumbags try to hide". For instance, in my county, (where I did volunteers work for the tenants association), tenants won only about 4% of the case they took to court again landlords. In the next county over, run my a different political party, they won about 60%. And yes, those cases were all about equally valid.

    That link has been posted several times on this website, by the way.
    THe article has many comments on it, including "pay your bills" cranks.

    The second comment says this :

    ===== quote begin :

    United states of fail.

    If only citizens could buy their debt for pennies on the dollar.

    ===== quote end

    That's why "businesses" like PRA aren't really legitimate. It's a dirty secret of the financial empires that debt, even after the loan originater has written most of it off, can still be collected in full by other financial empires. Only those who are "in the game", such as bank presidents and elected politicians, ever get large loans completely forgiven.

    Yes, it's a ghillie suit, and it you can make out the rifle barrel poking through....

    Hence, my moniker. The term "sniper" didn't come into common use until the 20th century. Before that, they were just called sharpshooters. During the Revolutionary War, the few men with rifles, as opposed to smooth-bore muskets, were taking out British officers at up to 300 yards, and it was considered "ungentlemanly".

    Some 95% of PRA cases won are DEFAULT judgements in which the defendants don't show up.

    When PRA doesn't show up, I wonder how many corrupt judges grant continuances which were NOT requested by PRA (since they weren't there in court).

    The Judge can wind up in some deep du-du for such actions real quick, everybody would want to give him or her a rope necktie.

    There's more criminal activity because part of the HS act was omitted when it was reenacted. Callers know this, hoping to get a stupid, gullible or ignorant person to fall for the threats and jive.

    Bradley Soos.

    He was a fill-in for Judge Robert Olsen.

    An Objection to Continuation never made it to the courtroom; the plaintiffs intercepted the defendant in court lobby and waived all actions.
