- spammers beware replies to annoyed| 9 repliesI thought I was the only one who used the whistle routine. Had a very persistent and annoying telemarketing agency bugging me a while back....no more. I asked them to please stop calling. They persisted. I asked again. They continued their unwarranted calls. After blowing a whistle they finally left me alone. In the beginning, I was nice and asked them to please stop calling, but politely asking wasn't being heard.
- Steven replies to Sally"JUST SAY YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED AND HANG UP."
Wow! Someone just doesn't get it. Don't you think people have been doing that for YEARS??!! It doesn't work. In fact, it sometimes is a signal to add the number and name to other lists out of spite. I know because I used to work as a telemarketer too. This is what we were told to do. - How's YOUR hearing replies to spammers beware| 8 repliesYou do realise, don't you, that the only hearing you've damaged with your brilliant "whistle routine" is your own, right?
- Still Dazed replies to How's YOUR hearing| 7 repliesI farted on my phone as a retaliation to this number calling me several times. I feel like I may have done more harm to myself than them, now my phone has this odd smell to it.

- How's YOUR hearing replies to Still DazedHeh. Maybe you can stick it in a bag of rice to absorb the smell. It works for moisture so who knows? It may work for smells.
- Nimrod® replies to Still Dazed| 1 replyAs my Father would have said: "That's what you get for doing something stupid."
I would suggest some Lysol or Fabreze to combat the smell. - Ex replies to Marco PoloGood one!

- Tygerkat replies to buffieWhat part of "the whistle will only hurtyour ears" do you not understand?
- Dillon in New Mexico| 5 repliesI agree that blowing a whistle is not an effective way to stop or reduce calls and may even increase the amount of calls for all the previously mentioned reasons but please explain to how me blowing a whistle would hurt my ears.
- William replies to Dillon in New MexicoYou using Cracker Jack whistles? Or just blowing a little puff into the whistle?
Blowing a loud whistle inside the house means the sound reflects off the walls and back to your ears, unlike in gymnasiumss and outdoors.
If you have a buildup of ear wax it helps reduce the loudness that impacts your eardrums.
