Blocking them and changing phone numbers are some other options. Changing your phone number would be helpful if the cowards who call you cannot find your new number.

I totally agree with you. There is no law in the world that says you will go to jail for not paying a bill and especially a bill or debt you never had in the first place. These spammers/scammers are very agrivating and they prey on people until they find an idiot dumb enough to believe them. And once they do they get those people's info and totally wipe them out finacially. Its a pain in the butt but on my cell I thankfully have downloaded a call blocker where my cell will hang up on them and I will never hear it ring. Also when they have called my house I will answer and then just jack the volume on my tv wide open and that very quickly makes them hang up. I have even resorted to buying one of those sports air horns and next time one of them calls I will blast them in the ear big time.

Thanks for the post. It means a lot. I am looking into what can be done about this problem. I'm not worried about having the constant calls. From the situation I have described, you can imagine that situations of debt and bill collectors calling me and my family are not uncommen and that experience has helped me in this situation cause I knew something was unusual about this one. Again, thanks for the support and please get the word out. You can always write your local newspaper or tv station informing them of this potential news story. I am working on doing that where I live.

You are welcome. I agree people should be informed about this non-going crap so that they don't fall for it.

That is why I like call blocking.  If it is someone I want to talk to: friends, family, people I do business with, the call comes through as usual.

But if it is an unknown caller, I get an email or text message, and I can decide in my own sweet time what to do about it.  No more tripping over the cat in a desperate attempt to answer a call that turns out to be another "take a survey, buy a cruise" scam call.  In the meantime, they get a "Not in Service", so if it is a pest, eventually they usually stop calling.

This is a payday loan 3rd party collector that calls themselves an "investigator". They threaten contacting your employer, harrassing family members even having you arrested - all of which are illegal under federal and state laws. They do not give you their company name, addrerss and if you ask for you to speak with your attorney (even if you do not have one) they will not accept that information. They are a collection company pretending to be something they are not - also illegal. Even if you owe the debt, or can't remember, do as I just did and report the to the Federal Trade Commision using the following site:

    http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/cfr.php?URL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ftc.gov

Remember do not be frightened by these con artists just report them. Finally check the statute of limitations on debt collections in your state, use this site:

They are definitely fraudulent, I called FCC and they confirmed!! Please don't give any of your information to them!! Call your local wireless provider and block their numbers or eventually just change it. If they can’t provide you with any original documents with your signature proving you owe a debt, tell them "you will see them in court”.

Purdie and Associates (out of GA) is an example of a legit agency who has this script. They recently have created another comapny call Chat & Associates in Florida. Owner Rashay Purdie. No phone# listed for Chat but Purdie's ph# is 770-277-8901. Very aggressive, very rude and the monitor this website.

Any idiot who calls me saying I owe on a payday loan (which would be pretty tough to prove since I have never taken one out), is going to find that I consider their call to be a form of entertainment.

"...ALSO CALL STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL GETTING READY TO REPORT THEM..."

    Why 'getting ready?'  Do it!

Even given the likelihood that these guys are beyond any legal jurisdiction, the AG will issue warning and alerts so that other people will be notified and, hopefully, less likely to fall for this con.
