Free trial turned into automatic renewal

Contact your bank/credit card issuer to file a complaint. They will get your money refunded and stop any further charges from them.

I should have given more thought to that and not bothered to reply, but  I had my "blinders" on at the time I posted. I sometimes forget they might only read the first page before posting and I tend to go directly to the last page, knowing its where the most recent posts are.
I think it should be locked or even eliminated if it does not contain any useful information worth keeping.

Suggestion:
It might be useful if there was a small paragraph telling visitors that the posts are "oldest to newest", including replies, posted on the first page under the topic or numbered threads.
