The google listing scams

(aside) For some reason, I don't remember the email used for my account, so I'll have to post anon for now until I either find my existing credentials for logging in again, or I create a new account with an email address I actually remember and keep recorded in a safe place. (/aside)

We had another Google listing company contact the office today: Business Claiming Services. The company called from the number 248-937-1355 ( https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-248-937-1355 ).

I found a website (businessclaimingservices dot com) with a contact number of 443-827-8505 ( https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-443-827-8505 ). If this is them, they appear to be based in Maryland, and it appears they charge $399 for managing a company's Google My Business Listing. I suspect that price is possibly per year.

I had to create a new account. This time, I've kept the login information in a safe place so I won't lose or forget it.

Yesterday, Instant Media called the office again. The live operator didn't seem to understand why we don't want these calls, and it seemed like she hung up on me.

Here are the numbers with which Instant Media has called us:

Today, we received a call from Star Light (unsure if this is one word or two) using 248-621-5717. When I asked operator Mike to stop calling, he asked, "You don't want to be on Google?"

I've reported the call to Google.

We have been getting these calls from 904-637-8268 about our google listing . I pressed 1 for assistance and got a live operator . The identified themself from Oasis Media . I told them I did not appreciate the calls repeated times a day every day for the last few months . They said we would be taken off the list ., I then looked up oasis Media and called them to notify them about this scam .

There is also another # that seems to be around 918-376-9587 and 780-624-4771

Oh look, a public announcement from Google; (available to anyone who cares to fact check)

    Phone calls from Google

Unfortunately, not all phone calls from people claiming to be associated with Google are legitimate.

You may receive a phone call from Google to verify your business or confirm business details for Google Maps, or a call from a Google account manager whom you’ve spoken with before.

Learn more about reporting and protecting yourself from robocalls

    Google does not:

*charge for inclusion in Google My Business or in Google Search.
*offer to improve your search ranking or manage your business’s online profile.
*ask you for your password or verification code. You should never provide sensitive information about your account (like your password and verification code) to a caller.
If you receive a robocall—a call placed with a recorded voice—for any of the above reasons, it is not from Google. The Federal Trade Commission has established a Robocalls resources website with additional information about robocalls and steps you can take if you receive one.

    I have a follow-up for the call(s) from 248-621-5717.

    • The name given over the phone is Modern Spotlight, not Star Light as I originally thought.
    • The company web site is modernspotlight (dot) com, registered this past month through Go Daddy and Domains by Proxy to hide the registrant. The contact number on the site is 800-304-3023.
    • There are two LLCs registered with the same address presently listed on the web site: Modern Spotlight Group LLC and Modern Spotlight Solutions L.L.C. Despite sharing the same Florida address, each LLC appears to have a different set of managers.

    smash telemarketers
Brand Rep are scamming thieves who bilk naive "clients" who are too lazy to improve their SEO themselves or uninformed to research legitimate SEO consultants before getting trapped.  The very fact that they "sell" their services through a robo-calling campaign is sufficient evidence of their abusive / illegal practices to have them shut down and fined into non-existence.

Yesterday, we received a Google Business Listing robocall from 248-243-8390. Operator Shannon identified her company as Perfect Image. I let her know we weren't interested and asked her to stop calling here.

The appropriate place for your post on this number-driven site would be under 248-243-8390.

You really have something against this company, don't you? And yet you can't even post in the proper thread for the number that called you.
