4244 Ridge Lea Drive Suite 22
Amherst, NY 14226
Phone: (844) 255-9872 Fax: (716) 995-4772 - MidNYteStorm replies to legit collectorAny operation that uses a police threat is not all that legitimate to me. My issue with these operations is when they call outdated numbers.
- Tamianth replies to legit collector| 3 repliesSounds more like flagrant and deliberate FDCPA violations to me and no wonder they are in trouble. So I don't buy "they can be real nice" if your nice to them.
- legit collector replies to Tamianth| 2 repliesthey are not calling you for no reason. The companies they are trying to collect for, decide whether or not they go forward with suing you in small claims court. I asked them in a calm tone, after they mentioned the "prosecution, arrest" thing, who the original creditor was. They do validate the debt.
Again, their approach is wrong and if you know your states rights, you KNOW they cannot arrest you. Just talk to them and have them validate the debt. - MidNYteStorm replies to legit collectorReally? Well I have been issued phone numbers and ended up with calls from collection agencies looking for people I never heard of. So much for your theory.
- Tamianth replies to legit collectorThey don't call me! And I'm fully aware of the FDCPA laws. Validation via US mail, not email, fax or phone. And they can be sued for threatening people with arrest and ending up owing much more then the original debt. Their approach is illegal period!
- jr replies to wjgesqthe reason is they will not use the US Mail if they do the postal inspectors will get them the inspectors are very good catching fraud using the mail thats why they will use fed ex ups and courier services
- CelticDragon replies to legit collector| 6 replies'legit collector'...talk about an oxymoron-those two words don't belong together!
- MidNYteStorm replies to CelticDragon| 5 repliesYou know something, I wouldn't be surprised if LC assumed oxymoron was a pimple treatment for clueless people.
- BigA replies to MidNYteStorm| 4 repliesWow and here I thought oxymoron was that stuff you added to the laundry to get stains out. Guess its true that you do learn something new every day.
- CelticDragon replies to BigA| 3 repliesAn oxymoron (plural oxymora or oxymorons) (from Greek ὀξύμωρον, "sharp dull") is a figure of speech that juxtaposes apparently contradictory elements (it is not however a contradiction in terms). Oxymora appear in a variety of contexts, including inadvertent errors such as ground pilot and literary oxymorons crafted to reveal a paradox.

- CelticDragon replies to MidNYteStorm| 1 reply*laughs* Tell me about it!
