I have searched all over and all of the links for phone tray free 1.39 have dried up. Even Herman's listing is gone. Does anyone know where I can find version 1.39?

    Thanks,

    Zeus

Built a dedicated always on PC for ptf using the trendnet tfm-pciv92a modem recommended on pt site. Got all working the way I wanted on workbench, and when I moved to final location, CID got all N/A calls. Long story short the permanent location connected to AC thru extension cord and ground to PC was lost. Connected PC to AC power using quality direct connect grounded cord and CID works OK. all else on PC worked properly with missing ground, but it couldn't receive CID info. This is a sample of one, but you guy's getting N/A CID info might want to make sure your PC is grounded properly.

Herman--Tried the link to your dropbox but it didn't work. Would still like a copy PT 1.39 if possible.

It works fine, you just have to find it the fourm. There is a link which takes you to a dropbox account.

Yes, Phonetray "phones home" because it looks up numbers on their database to block calls that are KNOWN spammers/scammers.  There's nothing surreptitious about their software.  I've been using it for a year now and it continually blocks calls from the idiot-[***] out there that don't pay attention to the rules.  Mike has added quite a few enhancements as well as numbers to their online database.

That's only for the new phonetray version 02. The original version 01 doesn't 'phone home'. Really that's the problem with version 02. You can't use it on a standalone, not connected to the internet, computer. After about a week the program won't work unless you enter your user ID/password & it connects to their server. There is suppose to be a standalone version coming out some time. You can run version 01 on Windows 98se if you wanted to, but a disconnected Windows XP is just fine. (and having Windows XP disconnected from the internet is not such a bad idea) I bought v.2 & I do find that there are features in both v.1 & 2 I like.

I have both the free version & the pro (pay) version of PhoneTray. The subscription JUST ran out on the Pro version. To get any kind of software updates from now on - pay again. I've said it before - the pay version certainly has the bells & whistles, but download, make copies, & use the free version. Stick with what works.

I'd be quite happy to pay for a version of PhoneTray that doesn't phone home, even though that would mean going without their online database. But I won't pay for any software that insists on phoning home before it will even install.

Just want to thank Herman & everyone else for keeping this discussion alive for me to find, and for making PTF available for download.  I've been using Digitone for quite awhile (and will continue to do so for the first ring suppression), but it lacks features I really craved.  I've downloaded & installed PTF with no problems & tested it (per Herman's explanation), and all seems to be working fine so far.  I'm actually looking forward to getting some calls.

I'm  running the free PhoneTray 1.39 and have been experiencing a new problem where it regularly trashes the privacy.csv file and creates a new empty file (with a few default items).  I reinstalled the program but it still trashes the privacy file.  There have been no changes in it's environment for over a year (I parted company with AT&T landline service and went VoIP over a year ago).  The CallLog.csv file remains intact and untouched.  Anyone else seen this?
