*67 works good keeps your info privite normally they dont answer or hangup.  But once had scammer call i had a long conversation, gave him fbi local phone number and a false name.  Reported number to the cops he was dumb enough to answer a block call should ne easy enough to find or get the number shut down.  Scammer was tech support let me help you install a virus and pay me money to release your computer.  Anyone know a honeypot server ip address?

I'm with the people who want to fight back instead of passively letting the phone ring.  I recently  invented a method that has effectively knocked out most of the telemaggots.  I don't have to say anything.  I don't pay for a blocking service.  And it's effing hilarious.

You have no idea what you're talking about, "Big A," because you don't know what I do.

I assume you are listing "using a call blocker" because it will not *STOP* fraudsters.  That is correct.  We cannot stop people who spoof caller ID and use fake names with international legal barriers keeping them safe from the law.

I've been using a software call screener for a month now.  I've spent less time answering unknown calls.  The computer answers these with voicemail in case of a legit caller.  It saves me from answering the phone personally.

Also, I'd like to add to the list:
    * Unplugging the phone/leaving it off the hook - Sure it technically works, but nobody can dial out and legit people cannot call in

I myself just ignore numbers that I don't know and don't pick up, the spammers/scammers give up after a while!!!

forward calls to your senator or congressman's personal line or office line. maybe that will get these do-nothings to pass some real legislation to stop this outrageous invasion of privacy

Well at least the title of this thread accurately describes the method you suggest.

Are YOU forwarding calls to a any legislator's telephone numbers?

Why are you trying to get other people in trouble ?
It is illegal to forward calls to other telephone numbers without the permission of the owner of the other telephone number.

Really, it is most helpful to file a complaint at donotcall.gov providing as many details as possible.  The FTC is working but needs the data in order to identify and locate the scammers.  They don't get much press, but the FTC has "won" billions in judgements.  There are just so damn many of these a**holes.

I always report the illegal calls to DNC. As "Tone Deaf" says, the more information they have the better. For example, even though their form lets you report the time of the call only to the nearest hour I always use the comment section to give them the call time *exactly* (well, to the nearest minute).
