New Rules For Robocalls

Under new rules issued last week by the Federal Communications Commission, telemarketers will be required to get express written consent from consumers before they're allowed to make robocalls. Telemarketers will also be forbidden from claiming that consent is implied based on a prior business relationship with the consumer.

Tell those scammers to wait for a 100 years. If they get desperate, and continue their cowardice tell them to wait for a longer time. By that time they'll be old, slow and unable to operate crap. I bet even God feel sorry for these genetic freaks.

Sorry TAT, do you really expect that politicians will EVER pass law disallowing their political campaigns from robo-calling you? Right, and then next they are going to pass a law that says that any law / rule / bureaucratic dictate that applies to the citizens of this great country also applies to them.

I noticed on my last post that just the www.stoppoliticalcalls.org has been highlited in Blue! What's the deal with that? Everybody please feel free to contact all of these agencies and organizations that are listed in all of my messages submitted. All of these agencies are actually legit and located in our nation's capital! The more Federal Agencies that are contacted by American Citizens complaining of how severe these types of calls have become the more can be done about stopping these calls! Believe it or not less than 20% of these annoying and harassing calls are actually within the United States & more than 80% are coming from other countries! Don't misunderstand me, I believe in world trade but there are certain things that should never be outsourced beyond our very own boarders!!!

It's blue because it's a hot link.   If a reader clicks on it, it takes him directly to the linked site.   The website software creates the link automatically when it recognizes a web address.    There isn't any problem unless you click on it and it turns purple.   If that happens the government is watching.  :o

I let my answering machine pick up all calls. At least they pay something for a
completed call.  Small satisfaction, but some..!

We get the same calls about 2-3 times a day. Wish I knew who it was.

There used to be a term, "boiler rooms" which referred to a vipers' nest of telemarketers. I don't know what they're called today but you can count me among those who are growing more and more annoyed by these pests. I want to make two points about unsolicited calls. One, no matter how many times you complain about being targeted by these vermin, you will get NO results from any government agency (with the exception of the IRS perhaps) unless the complaints number in the millions and even then our legislators who wrote the DNC laws, exempted themselves from the list. No one in government understands that "do not call" means DO NOT CALL", PERIOD. Secondly, the phone companies are completely and totally useless unless there is a breech of National Security. If the telemarketers pay their phone bills they will be left alone; if the telemarketers declare their income and pay the appropriate taxes, they will also be left alone.  The government (nor any other huge, for-profit entity) really doesn't give a hoot whether or not they interrupt your life with their scams and pitches. It's all about the money; it always has been and always will be...that is until enough outraged Americans put their collective feet down, hopefully on the necks of the perpetrators of this despicable type of marketing.

I'm thinking that the Do Not Call Registry has been hacked, or the Social Security/Medicare data base has been hacked...... I'll be getting Medicare in another two weeks.  Started getting robo calls on both my cell phone and landline phone.  Somehow the last two just "got to me".......one was getting on or off their prayer list because they know I am going through a rough time right now (huh???? boy is that way off base),of course it meant either way calling them back at a 800# which I know will switch to a number that will show as an out-of-the-country phone number and I will have a HUGE bill.  The other call was on my landline informing me that they were offering a service for funeral arrangements.

I have an unlisted landline and I don't give out my cell number unless it is absolutely necessary.....so which is it?  The registry has been hacked, or Medicare/Social Security is selling our information????????
