My kids told me that a male with a thick Indian accent called our USB port phone system, using the 000-000-0000.  What kind of phone number is that?  Seriously?...Indian?  Maybe it was some local guy, faking an accent.  Anyway, the caller asked for me by first and last name, was told that I wasn't available-- and to leave a message.  The caller simply said, "no thank you" and ended the call.  I have been a victim of a scam and ID theft in the recent past, and I believe that traces of these occurrences will probably continue, even though I've reported to all credit bureaus, the FTC, FBI, CIA, BBB, and any other important "watchdog/spy" organization that I can think of.  I really hope they catch these greedy, scamming, jerks.

We have received a rash of these calls lately. Unfortunately for these scamsters, our ISP provider automatically blocks them.

As Jaime Escalante used to say: "Have a good day!"

It would be interesting to know what question you asked. I doubt Life Aid wants to sell anything, they'd prefer to Buy You, and add you and your family to their list of tormented souls.

I am getting sick of these calls.  The first few times I received the call I answered but said nothing.  When all I heard was silence, I hung up.  This usually indicates that it is a computer generated call and if they don't hear a voice they will disconnect.   After a day of this I began simply picking up and hanging up.   I must receive a call from this number at least once or twice per hour after 10:00 am and going until about 8:00 pm.

May be a robodialer recording the time of day that victims will pick up to build up a tasty telemarketing list.

I got a call from this number at 3pm. They did leave a automated robot voice saying it was JPmorgan Chase and my mastercard was locked for security reasons and press 1 to unlock it. The message then ended. Before it was all the boat cruise calls, now this.

Both my husband and I received phone calls on our cell phones from this 0000000000 number today, him in the AM and I in the early evening. Same robot message, that our JP Morgan chase cards had been locked, press 1 to unlock.

When I see these numbers, I have a standard response.  I wait until I'm reasonably sure a live person is on the line, say "f*** off and die" and hang up.  They never call back.

Okay, let's talk serious about yesterday. I felt nothing walking home, thanks. But here's my question, why the call? Does "wiping" (I love that it's called that) my phone actually get you out of it for a little bit? Interesting and noted.

I receive a call from this number a few times a week. Phone will only ring once or twice. When I do answer all I hear is "Thank you" and they hang up or they just hang up.

This is the first time for me.  I notice that there are 138 pages of comments above.  I feel left out!  In my case the machine picked it up after six rings and the message was a "ding", then a phony female voice saying "Goodby".  I'll report it and block it.  Yawn....
