- taylorI get this call all the time it is GMAC.
- Caller: GMAC
- DSThis number can be used by pretty much anyone. Skype calls made from a computer, GMAC marketing and collections, and even calls from military, all utilize this number. I no longer answer calls from this number, and have my voice mail address these numbers with a recording, stating that all blocked, out of area, and zero or unidentifiable numbers, will not be answered. I request that that the party call back from a number that can be identified or leave a message detailing their purpose. This has reduced numerous calls.

- Sinisteri've been getting calls from this 'zero' number for over a year and i'm still getting them. it's a machine that asks you to press "1" to connect to a live operator or enter your phone number to be contacted by live operator for deals on vacations, credit cards, etc... regardless, it's a number of unrelated companies making cold calls via a machine.
- donnai get this all the time i never pick up the phone
- FedUpThis clearly bogus number just called in on my fax line.
- CrabI just received a call from 000-000-0000. They identified themselves as the duPage county Illinois Democratic party.
- Caller: Democratic Party of DuPage Cnty IL

- K to the L replies to Random Dudei get "unknown" caller for friends who call from out of state ( about 1500 miles away ) every single time. not sure why but from state to state caller ID isnt that great. and tho i could choose not to answer ive also chose not to use a messaging system ( since i am here 24/7 and live screen )so for someone like me its become a hassle. to each his own tho do whatever works.
- NHMore political spoofing calls.

- LarryI just received a call from this fictitous number and was told that I was the lucky winner of a luxurious holiday or cruise somewhere in the banana belt merely for answering some personal questions. There as steel drum music in the backgroud for effect. Instead, I actually spoke to a human being and told him that I don't want to received a call from him, his 'company' or other similar jerks again. He then supposedly had my phone number removed from the list. I'll believe when the calls totally desist.
It is annoying but I have difficulty believing that there are actually people stupid enough to be so easily duped by anyone, by telephone or e-mail, offering anything free in return for some personal information. People do not give away things for nothing, period. Most try to scam you when you PAY so why would they give anything of value away, especially to strangers, free of charge. Phony telephone numbers, ficitious names, and yet they evidently still manage to suck some people in. This is just far too simple. It's hardly a slick technique.
Perhaps, to be protected from themselves, some otherwise good folks need to be separated from their telephones and computers. Such instruments are apparently like matches and razor blades in the hands of children.
Are people really that dumb? - skiWell I just watched FRINGE maybe the Gov is calling
(long pause) LOL, I have an answering machine and let it pick up the "0 caller" and heard the phone hang up, today they called again (OOoooo scary) and again I heard them hang up. So I called the operator and she told me it was a telemarketing call.
After hanging up with the operator I was suddenly sucked back to Radio Shack about 2 years ago when I seen a ID caller blocker that you connect IN LINE so that when YOU call out nobody knows your ID. Now I dont know what you see when somebody on the receiving end would see on their ID caller but this might be some thing to think about, well the government calling to mess with your mind seems more fun. Whats an even bigger twist is that civilians come up with all the scary stuff, not the gov! - GThree calls over a 24-hr period, the 2nd asking by name for my adult son who lives elsewhere. Female caller with strong, unindentifiable accent said she was calling from/re the Navaho Relief Fund in Fladstaff, AZ. Subsequent caller hangs up when I answer, which I won't continue to do.
- Lin WoodI am contacting my Verizon Wireless to figure out to handle this. they call every night about 2am. i turn the ringer off before bed.
I have answered it twice and they hang up as soon as i answer.
FYI: if u have a Verizon account and they do not YOU pay for their phone call. this is the situation I am in.- Caller: They hang up.
- pro fessional| 1 replya (000) 000-0000 number on a caller id is one of three things for certain:
1. a large loan, like a student loan or the like that has been forwarded to a MAJOR collection agency, like Allied or Amalgamted, anyone defaulting on private school loans, like Sallie Mae or the like.
2. Parole or Probation offices in some states use this to call their paroles or people on supervised release in the federal system. This happens quite often so convicted felons of parole or the like dont screen calls from the p.o.- Call type: Valid
- professional replies to pro fessionalNCO Financial uses this method as well. Companies like Sears, Macy's, private clinics and hospitals use NCO, even unpaid subscriptions to magazines. NCO is bar far, considered in the industry, the absolute worst debt collector.
Sallie Mae, if you default, you are pretty much screwed. They use a local agency at first, evidentally, and then move on to straight lawyers of the like. Sallie Mae actually OWNS some of the countries largest collection agencies. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. Since they are not really considered third party through proxy, they would be more willing to negotiate payments, then lets say someone hired out independently by a coroporation or let's say VISA or god bless you, American Express....

movinupintheworld@gmail.com - RebeccaI just got a call from this number & called them back and a verizon long distance operator answered, I was like holy [***] & hung up. I don't know why they called & hung up though.

- danI get this number from Blockbuster and its a recording telling me that I need to return a movie/game by this or that date or I will get charged for it.
- MoI just received a few calls from this number and ignored them b/c I dont answer any unknown numbers. But then I received a test message from my cousin telling me that she was calling from work and to pick up. And just for the record she does NOT work for the FBI, she works for a collections agency and that is the way the numbers come up.
- Caller: Sunrise Credit Services
- Call type: Debt collector
- Em| 1 reply(Unknown Name) 000-000-0000 has been calling us quite often. Just about every day, sometimes several times a day. We've never picked up, and the caller never leaves a message. But I'm getting so peeved by this I'm tempted to answer it next time and tell whoever it is off.
But anyway, what prompted me to look up this number just now was when they called two times in a row a few moments ago, and the second time, while no message was left, I could hear this weird garbled mumbling underneath the away message. It almost sounded spooky, but I couldn't make out any of the words. (And as usual, they just hung up when the away message ended.) I've never noticed this any of the previous times they have called.
Nonetheless, I'm getting angry. I don't understand why they keep calling, whoever they are, because we quite obviously aren't inclined to answer a number we don't recognize, and if we do, there's no way we'll be interested in anything these suspicious callers have to say. - RD replies to EmAnyone calling from "000-000-0000" or "012-345-6789" "123-456-7890" and so on, are calling frm a VoIP connection fo some sort. There are many causes of it.. I can get the same thing if i call my home phone from my Skype line, sometimes it is a sting of sequentials, or all 0's, or sometimes it's unknown. Point is, all you can do, is tell them to put you on their DNC list, or, as I do, demand a supervisor, demand a callback #, and demand the company's contact information, including legal department. IF they give you that info, you are sure to have yourself removed. If not, they are going to hang up on you, and not bother you for a while.
