I finally got curious enough to wait around for someone to start talking.  A young man who identified himself as Richard asked me what medications I was taking.  I told him that not only were my meds not his business (although now I wish I had told him I was a female taking Viagra) but that if they called again I would report it to the FCC.  I then told Richard that he should stop being a telemarketer and get a decent job working at a fast food restaurant.

I believe it is a spoofing call and I have good reason to believe for me that it is Idearc Media trying to collect on a debt they say I owe. Well to bad for them I just added the number as a contact and set the ring tone to silent and after 2 weeks the calls stopped from that number and started from another. To bad Idearc Media you will never collect!
The number only had zero's no one at the begining. 000-000-0000

My call was from a young lady from Minn.  She said she represented the Republican Party and want to tell me how bad our President is doing.  I told her to go to Hell along with her party since I support our current President.

It's blockbuster, they called my parents a long time ago and they said we had a late fee for a few years, 1 we never HAD a Blockbuster account, and 2 they we're asking for somebody else. we called Blockbuster regarding this call, they apoligized and blah blah blah, and we haven't gotten a call since. I think it's really sad they have to hide their number. Their just too scared to show their number for some unearthly reason. (P.S I might not sound like a 5th grader... but i am)

Any call that I get from an unknown source gets a quick check.

No caller ID or all zeroes gets a rude response and I am very courteous to most callers.

Accent was more PI than Native American.

Got a call from 000-000-0000.  It peaked my curiosity, so I answered it.  A normal American sounding young man (seemed like) asked me if Willy was there.  I told him he had the wrong number.  He said, "there's no Willy there?", to which I answered "no".  He said ok thanks, and we both hung up.

My guess is it was either a collection guy, or a real person masking his phone number.  I don't think it was a telemarketer, because he would have tried to talk to me, and wouldn't care about Willy.  He could have been some guy looking for Willy but didn't want Willy to see his real number.  He must also know that Willy would not answer if it said "restricted" or "unavailable".

I got a call from this number just a few minutes ago. We don't have caller ID but I *69 every call that is a hang-up or telemarter to keep track of nuisance calls. I picked up, there was a long pause, then random background noise, then a guy said "yeah" and hung up. Really weird. I'm guessing it was from a jail or prison. We get those sometimes, inmates just call random 1-800 numbers and then beg you to call their families for them. Seriously irritating. We get SO many telemarketer calls here though! I was thinking of answering the calls as if I had called THEM to sell a service:

    phone rings
ME: Thank you for calling (place of business). How can I help you?
THEM: 30 seconds of dead air then "Can I speak to the person in charge of your utility decisions?"
ME: Can I speak to the person in charge of YOUR utility decisions?

I'll just keep repeating what they say to me. That should be good and frustrating for them. lol

I have been getting at least 3 or 4 phone calls a day on my Cell Phone from 000-000-0000 for the past 6 months, this is really starting to bother me, I am up in age and in poor health and things like this tend to worry me a lot, I have a pre paid cell prone and I don,t need to waste my min answering these calls, today 07/27/09 I receved 6 calls in less then 2 hours, I guess that they are going to start calling more often now, what can I do to stop this?
