People - PLEASE just stop talking about the mysterious (000) 000-0000 number.  ANYONE can change their own caller-id with the proper technology.  I am a System Administrator who controls our companies phone system.  I can send out WHATEVER caller-id I feel like that day.  (We have multiple lines, but I override those and send out our main numbers ID so that anyone calling back in gets our receptionist)  Since we're an actual company not in the business of screwing people over, we send out our correct ID, but the option is there for ANYONE in the world to use.  It's about a ten second change on a simple phone system.  So in other words, if someone at some bill collectors office or whatever doesn't want people to know who is calling, they can enter whatever they want and there is NO WAY for YOU to find out who it is.  Just buy a phone that has filtering options and block the numbers that make you unhappy including this one.

this is so funny to read.... cause it really has to do with common sense....

you know how you can call your cell phone company and request that your name or number shows up on caller ID.... You can choose anything you want pretty much to show up on someone's caller ID....
Or even if you say to your telephone company... hey I want my number blocked... your number is connected to what ever you want it to be.... Just like a company can request their number to show up as 000-000-0000..... their is no such number..... it's the same thing as a blocked number.... if you try to call this number you don't get anywhere just like if you call a blocked number....

No One is out to get you.... somone just wants you to pick up the phone... weather it be a collection agency, telemarketer or just other bogus caller.... trying to get you to purchase a product, or to get you to pay a bill.....

Treat as you would a blocked number.... you can have blocked numbers restricted from calling you as well as 000-000-0000......

    Good Luck!

I got a call that showed up on my cell as 0000. They called 8 times in 15 minutes they would not leave a message. When I did finally answer the phone call it was a foreign person who attempted to call me by my nickname claiming to be a law firm in California. If it was a law firm wouldn't they be looking for me with my full name?

Just received a call from this number through my job.  These people are BIGTIME SCAMMERS.  I have spoken with them before and they just do not get that they can be placed in jail for harrassment.  If they contact my job again, that is what will happen.  They cannot supply paperwork trail and when you confront them they WILL panick!  Let them call me again!

I don't think so considering my sister is getting texts from this # that are very mean and personal so if any computer specialist can figure out what site is letting people do this let me know. I found one sit called AnonTEXT.com but it says its down right now.

Not necessarily so many people r getting the same #. All it is, is another way to block #'s without saying restricted or unknown

With all this talk no one has said how to block the in coming call...I went to my providerweb site and it is, of course, an invalid number.  I guess I'll answer and hang up as always MAYBE they'll get the hint
