- ITs ME| 8 repliesThis is a call that I got from business dealing with people in Indonesia, and I got scammed for a decent chunk of change. They looked so legit it was ridiculous! Over 95% of the business over there is not legit. They are all scam artists!
- Alex| 3 repliesMe and my friends recently all have been getting 'Restricted Calls' that when we answer, there is always no reply on the other end. One time my friend was receiving a call from a "Restricted Number" and they left a message, that was repeated 'clicking' noises for well over 30 seconds. He checked with his phone company and the number was 000-0086. Does anyone know anything?

- Brenda replies to RYAN| 3 repliesmy husband and i have 4 verizon phones and have had several charges from these two numbers 777-000-0001 and 000-000-0086 our bills get higher and higher each month and we just noticed these strange numbers this month. can you please tell me how to contact the FCC? I really appreciate your help.
- Kde| 10 replies0086 is another Verizon scam to force customers to pay for usage they don't, or never wanted.
The more usage billed on your cell phone the higher amount Verizon makes in profit! Are the share holders expect higher profits per month? You bet they are, at the customers expense.
Verizon is going to get slammed with lawsuit from hell if they don't hurry up and make a deal with their customers, whom they been ripping off since day one.
Life is a [***] when your a caught scammer - Geoff replies to BrendaMy wife and I have 4 Verizon phones. I have just noticed these numbers on our bills, and when I looked back at previous months, I notice that these numbers have been showing up for over 6 months now. Some folks are saying that auto backup causes this, but I don't have auto backup on any of my phones. We need to get to the bottom of this real quick. You can contact the FCC at FCC.GOV
- DBThis is what Verizon said today about the 000-000-0086 calls on my bill:
Please wait for a site operator to respond.
You are now chatting with 'Verizon rep'
Verizon rep: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. How may I help you today?
DB: What are the 000-000-0086 numbers that keep appearing on my bills?
Verizon rep: That number indicates voice mail calls.
DB: messages you mean?
Verizon rep: That is when you call your phone to check voice mail messages.
DB: ok. what if it's a spammer phone caller? I've been getting a spam voice message for months now about once a week, have reported it to the do not call registry but am still getting them. It's an 800 number and they always leave a voice mail
Verizon rep: You would have to talk with the caller of that number I have that problem also. Cause right now there is no way to block the call.
DB: bummer. you need to check the web. people are really getting upset over this on their verizon service. type that 000-000-0086 number in to google and you will see how frustrated people are getting with Verizon over this. Maybe other companies, too but only verizon is getting blamed for this number. bad press for you guys.
Verizon rep: The actual 000-000-0086 is when you dial your voice mail, which is still charged.
DB: i understand that, but when my phone tells me i have a message waiting, and it's from the spammer, i always delete the voice mail so i don't have much choice except to go in and delete it or leave it on there forever disrupting the rest of my stored messages and all. we need a way to block callers.
Verizon rep: We are working on a solution. There is just not a certain time that it will be applied.
DB: ok, but check the web. people are threatening lawsuits, etc against verizon. hope it's implemented from your end sooner than later - i can't afford all that extra air time that spammers are using!
Verizon rep: I understand. We are trying hard to make things better.
Verizon rep: Is there any thing else I can do for you?
DB: tell your managers and supervisors to watch the web complaints on this before it gets out of hand. thanks for the info
Verizon rep: Any time.
Verizon rep: Thank you for visiting Verizon Wireless, I look forward to speaking with you again. Have a great day!
DB: Thanks. You too. - samsung_alias_dc8596| 1 replyits voice mail when you dial *86

- TLP| 1 replyEmail response I got from Verizon:
The calls you are seeing with 000-000-0086 are for checking your voice
mail messages from this handset. Since April 1, 2004, accessing your
voice mail by dialing your ten-digit wireless number from your wireless
phone will count toward your standard airtime usage and not a free or IN
Network call. Please note: A call to your voice mail box is not an IN
call, as you are not actually calling another Verizon Wireless
customer.
You may still access your voice mail messages airtime free by calling
from a landline phone. To access your voice mail from a landline phone,
please dial your ten-digit wireless number, press "#" to interrupt the
greeting, enter your password, and then follow the voice prompts.
Next, for the 777-000-0001 calls, when using data products and services
such as Get It Now, Mobile Web, Picture and Video Messaging, and
National Access, the phone numbers (777) 000-0001, (000) 000-0000, or (000)
000-0001 will appear in the "Usage detail" section of your statement.
This number signifies airtime that was used by data applications. - Suzi000-000-0086
- More intelligent than most replies to Kde| 9 replies0000000086 on your Verizon Bill is when you call your voice mail. Are you people really that stupid?
If you don't want to get charged, don't call your voice mail to retrieve your messages.
It's frightening to think that you are possibly registered voters and are privileged to decide this country's future. - Got_hit| 1 reply0000000086 showed up on my verizon phone along with 7770000001.
was charged over $100. for extra mins on my monthly bill. Report it so they can take it off your bill. You may have to change your #.

- lori replies to More intelligent than mostHi and thanks for offering a realistic answer. We have just become a totally Verizon house. Do you know if you get charged calling from a Verizon cell to a Verizon home land line?
- MaryGuys, this is rediculous!
We need to get together and do something to prevent further overcharges from already frustrated customers nationwide.
The first three times that I got the $91.00 Bill Statements from VERIZON, when I have a $39.99 monthly Plan, I was too busy with my payments on Credit Cards that I didn't have enough time to go online and check the details on my Verizon Bill.
What is happening now with the Verizon Customers is outrageous!
These 000-000-0086 numbers may make some people to go over the edge as it is happening to me. I am getting SSI and already have a financial hardship. Now, recently I'm noticing that my Verizon Bills have jumped over the Limit, even though I cut way back on my cell phone usage as I don't work and mostly use my home phone...
Please E-mail me at hnano72@yahoo.com
in case you hear any news about how to deal with this Company who has started taking advantage over the fact that most of the customers are busy making both ends meet and have no extra time to fight for each detail on their Cell phone Bills.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - mandy replies to ITs ME| 5 replieshow did you find out? I just got Verizon and the bill is way over the norm. - MH replies to mandy| 1 replyMy son had 5-0000000086 on his statement, I asked him about, he has to dial a86 to see who sent him a voice mail.
He doesnt have to dial the zeros first. - fishin man replies to More intelligent than mostWhat's amazing to me is that anyone is ignorant enough to leave a note on this site like the one you left. Talk about someone that shouldn't be allowed to vote! Please crawl back into the hole from which you emerged. BTW -- just got a bill for almost 1400 minutes charged to this number -- do you really think it's been dialed that many times? Even with friends leaving messages on a regular basis (this concept may be tough for you to understand), I don't think so.
- Herk| 2 repliesEverytime my wife has checked our cell phone bill through verizon and we have the family plan of 5 phones we noticed that the number 000-000-0086 is coming up on our bill and the amount on the bill has gone up and we did not dial this number and we are tired of it!!!
