- Ron replies to ITs MEOn verizon wireless phone service 000-000-0086 is the phone number for voice mail. So if you call voice mail that is the number that you dial without knowing.
- IHateCrooksI tried to put this 000-000-0086 number in that my circle thing and it won't work. Invalid number. Hum, and invalid number that you get charged for??? If it's an 'Invalid' number, how does it work?? Come on Verizon, your surely smarter than that.

How can I get my money refunded and how can I get the calls or and charges STOPPED - Lynnay777 replies to More intelligent than mostYou are an idiot. I saw my phone calling some number. I did not pick up the phone and dial a number it was sitting on the night stand making a call on its own. I made a note of it and checked my bill when it came out and that number 000-000-0086 was on the bill. Verizon claims they don't know what the number is. So now what do you say rocket scientist?

- KayeI happened to notice 000-000-0086 on cell phone bill yesterday. It is when you check your voice mail. Never paid attn to the # before as I would see "Voice Mail". Not getting charged for this...may have something to do with the plan we have.
If anyone is getting charged to hear their Voice Mail, call Verizon to inquire why. - Mikei just received this note from Verizon; Even though you can call Verizon to Verizon customers without charge. Verizon charges you for calling Verizon to check your phone mail. There recommendation is to tell people to call your land-line. Funny thing is most people are giving up their land-line.
Another way to get back at us.
FROM VERIZON:
I'am so sorry for the confusion that the call records that you have referenced has caused. I know how important it is to keep track of the things that are happening on your account and I will be happy to explain these call records to you.
The call records that you have shared were not incoming calls to your phone, they were actually calls that you were making out from your phone to check your Voicemail messages. Each time you make a call to Voicemail, it is just like making a regular call and it will deduct from your minutes. Since the number to call Voicemail is *86, this is why the number shows up in your call records as 000-000-0086. Calls to Voicemail are generally 1-2 minute calls, but if you are already going over your minutes, calls to check your messages will be charged overage.
The good news is that if you would like to avoid using your minutes to check your Voicemail messages, you can certainly use our alternate method to check your messages from a landline phone. To check your messages from a landline phone:
1. Call your phone and let it ring through until you hear your Voicemail greeting.
2. When you hear your Voicemail greeting, press "#" and you will be prompted to enter your password
3. Enter your Voicemail password then press "#" and your messages will play.
I am glad that I was able to clarify this information for you so that you know how your minutes are being used each month. To assist you with the minutes that you have used to make any calls to check your messages this month, I have added 50 bonus minutes to your account that will expire on January 24, 2013. This will help offset any minutes you have or will use over the next cycle period. I want to thank you for being the best part of Verizon Wireless and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Latasha

- Janeeh replies to Brendac825Thank you for your help and yes, the problem I am having and 10 of my Verizon friends are having is:
We are RECEIVING these texts over and over at a high cost. No outgoing calls or checks to voice mail in any way shape or form.
We are all contacting FCC to report the problem because it is true, Verizon could care less or they are benefitting from it.
Oh the joy of technology! - Janneh replies to Jane PinardTo reach the FCC use this web site

- Caller: dont know
- charles g replies to VZ operatorthere is a scam by Verizon in which they set your phone to where it will not beep or notify you that you have received a voice mail so they can keep you having to check your voice mail by dialing your voicemail where they can get you too go over your plans minute usage and then they can really rob you.
