Switch to Google Voice for Voice mail. Stop depending on Verizon to nickle / dime you every time you get a voice mail.

You are right. It is time to look for another phone service too. Post your unhappyness to twitter and Facebook too. Get enough complaints and they may make a change for those who stay.

It is a call from someone that is blocking their phone number from showing up on yours.  Some woman has been calling my husband for a long time, when I finally found out and confronted him with it he said she is just a friend and it is coming in from Puerto Rico.  We do not live in PR.  He told her to please stop calling him and she would not listen, I called her and told to stop calling him and she didn't.  She just calls in blocks her number so we can't see what # is coming in on the phone.  Sometimes he answers the phone and it is her and he keeps telling her to quit calling but she keeps on calling.  It shows up as Unavailable number.  I said I see you got another call from Unavailable was it her again and he says yes so now we are going to just change his phone # so she can't call anymore.

I called verizon on this 000-000-0086 because it has appeared on all of our cellphone bills. This is the number that shows up when you check your voicemail from your cellphone, if you check your voice mail from your cellphone there is a charge.  This is not an overseas number.   My suggestion is that if you don't recognize the number or it shows up as unknown don't answer it, if its legit they'll leave you a voice mail.

This is not your voice mail, I notice a click during a phone conversation. When I hang up and check it, the friends number I was talking to is there and the 000-0086 number is there at the same I was on the phone.
I think it's the government tracking calls.

    Hi Todd replies to Todd
on my Verizon bill 000-000-0086 showed up on my bill several times, on all 4 phone numbers.Went online to account information> My Bill tab >  clicked usage details > over to the right of phone number click-- view all voice mail details.  You will see a list of VM calls similar to:

6:00AM    000-000-0086    Peak    PlanAllow,CallVM    location    Voice Mail CL

If you have VM on your plan this should be free, if you do not have a VM plan than you will be charged as if it were a call.

If you have VM on your plan this should be free, if you do not have a VM plan than you will be charged as if it were a call. I have been with Verizon for a few years and my VM has always been part of my plan. Not sure how Verizon pay as you go VM charges work. Hope this helps.

This is the number that will show up on your bill for accessing your Voice Mail. When you dial *86, use the Voice Mail access shortcut/button, or click the Call Voice Mail link/button on a smart phone it will show up as having dialed this number.
If you are being charged for it, as I am, contact Verizon too see what option or plan is available that would include free access to your Voice Mail.
