- HollyMy husband and I made an order from PediPaws some months ago for something we had seen on TV. I received this check this week for 8.25 saying if I cashed the check I would automatically become a member of "Home Complete" and would automatically receive a charge on my credit card of $129.99 for the membership fee along with at the end of each year, if they had not heard from me to cancel my membership, I would automatically be charged the 129.99 fee for renewal. I have not cashed the check, however, there was a number on the back of the check of 1-800-878-7279. When I called this number I received a recording to call 10-15-15-8000 which I did not call.
- HollyI called the 1-800-878-7279 on the back of the check and was referred to call a 10-15-15-8000 number. I am really worried that they have my credit card information concerning an order made to PediPaws some time ago. Who should I contact about this as I am very concerned they have all my personal information?
- AnnieCall from Sony at 888-476-06970 (I had inquired at Sony because they had double charged my credit card for service inquiry). When I called back, I received a recording to call 101-515-8000. I am surprised that Sony would participate in this but after talking to two Sony representatives outside the US who could not help me, I just know now I will not be purchasing ANY Sony products.

- fulanoThere was a message on my parents' machine last night. When they gave me the number (800) 860-9980, and the name "Tabitha Davis," I called. It directed me to 10-15-15-8000.
OF course, I googled it and found this board.
I can't believe that the scam dates back to 2007 and is still successful enough to merit someone's time... - NORMANJOHNMy 85 year old mother in law was billed for two of these calls at 4.99 each from her room in a nursing home room. I called to complain and was told a check would be mailed to her and they would block any future calls from her line. This is a scam, my mother in law is not able to use her phone due to failing health.

- UnknownI received a call from a Mrs. Tide, stating she needed to hear from me. She actually had to go through a dial prompt at my office to get to my extension. She left the number 800-649-0761 and when I called it I was told there was a new National Directory and to please call 10 15 15 8000, it did not say anything about a charge, just kept repeating the number. I checked here and have not called it.

- James Kent replies to Isi-BI received a message to call 888-626-8229, and when I did I got the message to call 10 15 15 8000. I did and I received a notice that there would be charge of $4.95. t THINK THIS IS A SCAM, ESPECIALLY SINCE I AM A VOLUNTEER CONTRIBUTING MY TIME TO THE "SURGICAL OUTCOME SURVEY" SURVEY. James Kent
- maryI tried to call Natra Pure to cancel and was directed to the 101-515-8000 number. I didn't call the number thanks to those who posted.
- GeorgeI received my Verizon phone bill (NYC) and saw this weird charge. I never called this number and was billed $5.69. When I called the listed OAN Service customer support number (800-944-0171), it asks me to call 101-515-8000 instead to inquire about billing issues.

- joannn hackettI have this number on my phone and no one was home at the time of the call. This is [***].
- cruiser replies to fayewinnThe number I called was from an IRS paper. I called and got the same information you did concerning 1015158000. When I tried to call the irs again, it went through to them. Hopefully nothing is going to be billed to my phonebill. How did they link their number to the IRS phone number?
- CathyI received a call from IRS asking me to return a call. When I dialed the given 800 number, a message came on suggesting that I call 10-15-15-8000. It was so fast and low it was hard to understand. The IRS is capable of anything so I dialed the number and got some kind of "out of service" message. Puzzled, I re-dialed the IRS, got the 10-15-15 message; redialed the IRS and finally got through. It was a legitimate call from IRS. Reading these posts I understand that somehow this scam hijacks legitimate 800 numbers and inserts a request to call 10-15-15 that results in charges. I called Comcast and they helpfully made a note and said I wouldn't be billed. I'll watch carefully, though!
- Calling 10 scamReceived a billing of appox $14 from ILD for calling two directory assistance numbers in the Western USA when using using Calling 10. I made no such calls and smelled a ripoff. I complained to the Fed Trade Comm. I received a letter from ILD and ILD said it checked with Calling 10 and Calling 10 said its records showed that I made made the phone calls. Any records of such phone calls have to have been manufactured by Calling 10 or another entity. Look carefully at your phone bills and look out for any number that begins with a "10" and lookout for ILD.

- JohnMy 89-year-old mother received her Verizon bill and there was a $5.49 charge, plus a $1.65 charge for "Usf Carrier Admin Fee" , billing for OAN Services, Inc., an "operator-dialed call". I will be calling Verizon tomorrow and will accept nothing less than deletion of the charge from her current bill.
- J$7.68 scam. Found a number for billing questions regarding this on my ATT bill for ILD Teleservices, 1-800-433-4518, which is a 3rd party billing service for 101 515-8000, a directory service which we did not use.
Shelly, at that 800 number, said she would process a credit to ATT for me and block any further billing from the fraud to us.
Also, I then called ATT to report the problem, and they gave me an immediate credit. - Laurie| 2 repliesI got a call from someone named "Betty Moore" asking for travel info. (I am a travel agent). She called from 800-726-2043 and kept me on the phone for 10 minutes. when finished, she refused to give me her number and suddenly seemed spooked. I got it off my caller ID. When I call it back it says it has new number 10 15 15 8000. So I googled that and found this information blog.

- JeffI tried calling to get a part for my BBQ grill and was told that they had a new national number 101-515-8000. I was billed for $7.14 for directory assistance by IDL. Last month I was billed for $14.95 by IDL for a voice mail service that I knew nothing about and received credit for this month after calling to complain. I will have to make another complaint call.

- L.My daughter got an email to call 1-800-952-5374 ext 262. She had previously put in an application to the company in the email. She dialed the number and it wanted her to call 101-515-8000.
Instead of calling, she called the people who she thought had sent the email. They did not send the email.
Then she got a second email. Asking her to call again.
I am still waiting to see if anything turns up on our phone bill.
