111-111-1111

This number called many times and finally left a message on the answering machine. It was Old Navy offering a 10% discount on purchases if you use your old Navy credit card in the next week. They said to call 800-206-8835 to opt out of such announcements. I am guessing 111-111-1111 is a bogus number used by many callers masking their identity.

I got a call last week, and they played a recording of a debate between Senator Christopher Dodd and someone else at 6:05 am. It was speeded up, so it was hard to hear. Then I got another one this morning at 1:58 am, and that showed the caller ID. I think the real number for these people is 616-980-2604.

"Nearly every call that begins with 616-980-XXXX, is from a shady telemarketing outfit in Grand Rapids, MI.  In most cases, you'll hear a prerecorded message trying to trick you into buying a car warranty, a vacation, credit card, mortgages, etc.  The important thing to remember is that prerecorded telemarketing calls that you don't authorize are a violation of federal law.

"The next time you see a phone number on your caller ID that begins with 616-980 (and the odds are very good that their autodialer will call you back), answer it and listening to the entire recording.

I get calls from this number sporadically and always in threes. when I answer there is a dialing sound that is like when you hit redial or something. never anyone on the other end. I'm waaaay up in northern Canada, not too worried about anyone stalking me. just annoying

Want to get something done about this??? Not only report it by filling out the form on the FCC website!!! But call the FCC 1-888-225-5322 (every time it happens). Most likely the FCC phone recording will say, after a long wait... (that they are receiving alot of calls, please try again later), hang-up your phone and call right back!!! After your 3rd-4th call, they will answer!!! If we all keep doing this, maybe they will get sick of us all calling & and do something about this harassment by these people/company??? Calling us in the middle of the night (AM) is wrong!!! People are thinking these calls are an emergency call, not cool!!! Help stop this harassment...

its' probably a skype or other internet phone number.

Been getting carrier drops from Masked phone number 1-111-111-1111 as well.
Sometimes phony service rep with thick african or middle eastern accent asking about various Credit Card Accounts.
If they call you make sure to ask them their name and social security number haha.
They should already have your SS and Checking Routing # if they are legit.
You should not have to give it to them. SCAM

I just started getting calls from this number today, like, three times today.  Annoying!  I hope they don't keep on calling me.

I received a call from this number yesterday on my home phone.  Then today my cell started ringing and it was this number.  It did not ring long before it said "missed call", they must have hung up.  I do not answer numbers that I do not know.  I am on the do not call list, but still receive these calls.  I'm tired of all the calls from unknown callers.

Been receiving calls from this number at the office at least 3-4 times a day.  I noticed on the caller id that they are also calling at night after we are closed.  Every time I have answered, they hang up immediately upon hearing my voice.  Today, I picked it up and didn't say a word.  I heard the redialing noise or whatever it was doing, then FINALLY a real voice said hello.  I said hello - what can I do for you?  They asked for someone I didn't even know.  I told her that and thought whew finally all these calls will stop.  But guess what?  3 more calls today after I told her that whoever she was trying to reach was not at this number.  I believe this is a masked number for different telemarketers that would ordinarily get blocked on the DO NOT CALL LIST.  They use automated computers to dial the number for a mass amount of companies under the general number of all 111's so it can't be blocked.   Like someone said in an earlier post, the only way to stop this is to fill out the FCC form and call them repeatedly to complain.  If enough people do that, they may be able to do something.  It really is annoying.  Good luck everyone!

This number is used by several collection agencies and credit card companies that have farmed their work overseas...  In addition to saving the company a ton of money, it makes all of our federal calling laws useless... You can only enforce a US law on someone calling from the US...

I get these call on my cell about twice a week.  Never a voicemail, they just call around 12noon time.  I am unable to block them on my cell.

they just called today [24 Jan 08] around 6:35PM.
yesterday an unavailable number called around this time, too.
dafuck is up with that?! it's a creepy number to begin,
and then from what i've read, the use doesn't speak.
i'm paranoid enough -- rather than tapping lines,
the government should check [***] like this out 'cause it's
messed up. i don't appreciate it.

its a call form someone you know who is dead and in heaven

I receive four or five (unanswered) calls from this number every day.  What's the use of being on the "Do Not Call List"?  I still get as many unwanted calls as ever.
