Indeed 111-148-7799 is an AT&T number.  I got a message this morning and it was about an account change I did last night.

Thank you, I was worried.

Text from 1111487799  Similar to all the rest.  Has a link on the iphone.  Im not gona follow it.

The message reads:
"Credit Card Payment Confirmation #QPCMAT********* for $214.12 paid 12/24/09 posted to account 724****** on 12/24/09"

This number seems to be from a publicly accessible software which allows the downloader to send text messages from their computer.

received 3 txt messages from 111-148-7799 in a row.  don't have txt messaging on my phone so i ignored them.  called 611 (at&t) and was told that the message was probably a phishing scam aimed at getting me to sign up for cell phone insurance.  AT&T told me I could just continue to ignore the messages or if it kept happening I could reply "STOP" to the txt and it would stop.

i got the same text message, who the hell is sending that message, such a jerk.

Got a call from 111-148-7799.   Confirmation #QPCMDT62097201 for $346.58 paid on 2/8/10.

You guys got off easy. I'm freaking out. My message says $13491.87 was paid!!!

I have received 2 text messages from this number.  I had my text messages blocked and yesterday 2/9/10 I received a message on my voicemail which I did not respond to.  This is a nuisance.  I called my provider and told them I will not pay for these messages.

this is a message from AT&T telling you the monthly bill that was paid to them. I received a message from them, and i thought someone hacked into my bank account and took money from it, so i got so worried, my bill was 122& though. ya so i called 611 and talked to customer service, and they explained it all. Thanks anyway ! :)

This is AT&T letting you know the bill has been paid.  If your cell phone bill is paid by your company (as mine is), AT&T is mistakenly sending the payment information to you.  The larger amounts must mean your company has quite a few phones on their account.

I received a text message from 1111487799 saying: "AT&T FREE MSG: Please contact us at 18003310500 for information on your AutoPay account so your payment may be processed in a timely manner."

1st off, why is my Phone Provider TEXTING me at 10:00pm,

2nd- why would they ask for payment info if they've been billing the same account for years,

3rd- I don't even pay the bills (I'm on another person's contract) and I'm the only one that received this message,

4th- I can't seem to link 1111487799 to AT&T at all

5th- this number is listed with other numbers known for spamming and scamming - see below

Only got one message and here it is:

Ends with time and date. Seems to be a text message from AT&T even though I don't subscribe to Text Messaging!
Call seems to be harmless in this case as my AT&T wireless bill is due about now.

That was exactly what happened to me! i just flipped a [***] because i thought someone had drained my account.

Just FYI, like lou said, it's from AT&T, I get messages about my account from this number, and I always forget who sends them to me so I have to keep looking it up.

Why would someone get this after 2 years? I have a hard time believing it is At&T.

Its from AT&T people.  Your parents/significant other probably just paid the bill.  If you get them - oddly once a month - then its because  you are bill once a month - ta da!  If you only get it so often its because whoever is paying the bill doesnt always do it that way.
